Don't Stop Believing...

...One of my favouritest songs ever...and I was bowled over with Joe's performance of it on X much so that I actually voted for him LOL Anyways, the Don't Stop Believing today is a reminder for the Sunday Stamper...which this week is "Believe" and...remember that there is some FAB candy on offer too! The theme runs until 2nd Jan and the winner will be announced of the 3rd January.

Today I am showing a couple of the 60 million Christmas cards I have had to make this year...actually, I exagerate slightly, it was more like 45 million but there you go :O)) Both of the cards have the word Believe on them and are just plain and simple ones...bit like me really! I used Distress Inks, Tim stamps, Hearts In Touch stamps and some mirri and Bazzill card along with a sled load of Picket Fence Stickles *see what I did there....sled load instead of shed load...cos Santa has a sled!!!*

Today has been a bit nightmarish with the weather...I know, us Brits talk about the weather constantly but I couldn't get out this morning and I needed to...just too scared to walk on snowy icy pavements and risk falling over and doing myself another injury! Hopefully we have seen the last of the snow for a while and whilst it is freeeeeezing out there, at least it will thaw out soon! Thanks for looking! Oh, and here is a piccie of the candy:

Snappy Colours

...Today sees the start of a brand new Colour challenge over on the Gingersnap Blog...the colours are; Purple, Green and Gold. I made a tag using some of the techniques we learnt from Tim Holtz on the 12 Tags 09 journey :O)) The Flourish stamp has been done with gold dabber, and then Peeled Paint and Dusty Concord has been blended over the top.

The tree is made from Grungeboard...stamped, embossed with clear and then edged with the purple..and additional mini stars added for some more gold. I used a Dymo, rubbed with gold Krylon as my sentiment and added gold ribbons and a cute little golden tree for the decoration.

Thanks for looking...don't forget, everytime you enter into a Gingersnaps challenge this month there is a chance of winning some fab candy from Hearts In Touch.

A Tree, A Birdy and WOYWW

...Blimey, you know when you have one of those bright idea moments...and then several hours later reeeeally regret that you went with the idea in the first place?.... Well, that was me yesterday...I spent a lovely lovely day with Jennie...we had our "office party" and yes, I ate far too much...and then we did a wander around Faversham and I bought this heaven ickle birdy tree ornament...he is so much cuter in the real but remember folks, my photography is rubbish LOL

So...where did it all go wrong? Humph...there is a new High Speed link from St Pancras to Faversham...yipppeeee, no sitting for too long driving my car and making my pain worse, relax on the train...let it take the strain...ha! Getting there was great, fab trains, brand new, clean, fast...couldn't wish for more..coming home...still the same lovely train (don't forget, I used to be a train driver so I have a few anorak tendancies when it comes to trains)...anyways...cutting the very very long journey story short...the train in front failed...then we were in a queue...then we got stuck in a tunnel for 50 mins...all in all it took over three and a half hours for an hour journey! *feels sorry for self* LOL At least my tree is up now and here is a piccie of usual, cack photography but I love it...

Today I took a photo of my desk...which has a few of the gorgeous pressies I have been given over the past few this is my WOYWW entry...there HAS to be some crafting done on that desk today...several thousand Christmas cards to be made and posted soon...I have to tidy that messy desk up...and get into the cardmaking I will say TTFN for now...and wish you all a great day...hope it isn't snowing with you...tis trying to here...more sleet than the white stuff tho :O))

I spent hours...and I mean hours...doing the chuffing Christmas decorations today...but the tree looks very presents under it for me tho :O( Grim doesn't trust me enough to put mine under there...he thinks I will have a rummage and a if I would do such a thing!!!!

Just a quickie post today...none of my usual waffle...pain bad...deep bath and early night needed I reckon! Thanks for looking....

Sunday Stampers - Week 83 - Merry Christmas Everybody

Morning Stampers,

.....It's Christmas!!!! *said in a Noddy Holder shouty voice* just to get you all singing today I chose this title LOL Thank you to everyone who joined in with the Angels challenge last week - this week the theme is Christmas. To join in with the challenge, all you need to do is make a piece of art and then blog it, pop back here to leave me a comment with a link to the place you are showing your entry. *The challenge will be open until 23:00 on Saturday 19th December.*

I started to miss the Twelve Tags of Christmas I made one for today...totally inspired by previous tags of Tim...and using techniques used over the past couple of weeks with the Tim tags.

I used clear embossing ink and powder for the swirl, blended Antique Linen, Fired Brick, Aged Mahogany and Walnut Stain Distress Inks over the surface...and then made the snowman by embossing him in white onto Grungeboard, cutting him out and then using a gold Dabber to colour the Grungeboard underneath. I made the ribbon scarf like Tim did for his first tag and added a couple of bells which I coloured with Precious Metal paint. The beaded fringe started out as clear, so I spritzed some Glimmer Mists onto it to colour it to match.

Thanks for looking... have a brill week and don't forget to get inky and messy!

Something Sandy......

...Ah, what a shame I don't mean that I am writing this from my sunlounger on a sandy beach in the Bahama's...but..what it does mean is that today the Gingersnap Creations Blog see a brand new challenge! And...guess what? It is....Sandpaper. (am not going thru the whole is it Sandpaper, Sand Paper or Sand paper thing again like yesterday...that would be tooooo boring....)

I made a card for my entry...I used some fab DCWV cardstock, running it through the Cuttlebug with a Holly folder and the Swiss Dots folder...rubbed the embossed bits with sandpaper so the white core showed...and then blended Distress Inks over the whiteness using Antique Linen to make them toned down. The little tree which I made into a bauble is another of those gorgeous stamps by Hearts In Touch...I stamped with Peeled Paint, embossed with Shabby Shutters Distress Powders and then added loads of dollops of Picket Fence Distress Stickles. The bit of ribbon and then the punched flowers were added to make it look more like a bauble...please tell me you knew instantly that I had made a bauble (LOL)...I added some little DewDropz for the tree and stamped my favest sentiment in the whole widest world (another Hearts In Touch stamp) straight onto the cardstock...blended the edges with Antique Linen to pull it all together and voila, finished!

Thanks for looking...and if you feel like a challenge today, please hop on over to the Gingersnaps... they have some beuatiful samples on display as well as this one of mine ROFL And...I almost forgot to mention....Hearts In Touch are generously offering the Christmas stamp sheet as Blog Candy for one lucky entrant! Cool huh?

I am dashing off to the blog of the man who is driving me insane at the same time as making me say oooh and aaaah everyday at his fabulous tags...I need to see what today's looks like!

Good luck!!!

Back to the Sunday entry features a beautiful Angel stamp from the Hearts In Touch Christmas Plate which is up for grabs as the Hop Prize. I used Distress Inks to colour her...made her a little shabby looking about the edges and then used some Cosmo Cricket Be Good papers for the background. The sentiment is also on the Hearts In Touch plate too...and I think that this is my fave Christmas sentiment ever :O))

I hope you will have chance to play at the Sunday Stamper and also join in with the Hop too...have a great week everyone...and for the Tim Tag "Splinter Group", I will blog todays tag tomorrow...IYKWIM :O))

Allsorts & Buttons

...The theme on the Allsorts Challenge this week is I seem to have hundreds of them, I thought I would pop a few onto my latest Tilda creation.

I used Basic Grey Wassail papers, these are so lush that last year when I bought them I just sat stroking them for a few hours and couldn't cut into them...this year, I am the same with the Eskimo I got to use the Wassail after all :O)) So fickle!!

The Tilda has been coloured using ProMarkers and then I added some Sakura White Pen dots for highlights. I added some buttons to the top of the card and also for the centres of the Prima Poinsettia's. And..the Tilda also has some buttons on her I guess I really have...buttoned it!! LOL

Thanks for looking...have a good day...I have been struck down with a stomach virus so yesterday was spent feeling very sorry for myself...thankfully, it seems to have passed now though...don't worry though...I haven't been put off my food LOL

Sunday Stamper - Week 80 - The Holly & The Ivy...

Morning Stampers!

First of all, thank you to all those who joined in with the challenge last week...and without further ado I will annouce the winner of the artwork I made for my entry...the winner has been chosen at random from the peeps who joined in with the challenge and .. the winner is...

Gerrie Johnnic - congrats to you ...I will be in contact for your addy :O))

This week we are carrying on with the Christmas style and the theme is Holly & Ivy. To join in all you need to do is make a piece of art, be sure to incorporate stamping and either Holly, Ivy or both into your creation and then leave a comment here for me with a link to the place you are showing it. As with last week, I will be giving away my entry artwork to one person, chosen at random from all entrants.

I made another hangy piece, this time the main image is another one of those fab Mabel Lucie Attwell Pixies from The Artistic Stamper. He is coloured with ProMarkers and then I decoupaged the holly.

The base is a page from a Maya Road book, painted, Rock Candy Crackled and then Glimmer Misted to colour. I added some shapes of Christmas paper and layered up some lace and ribbon, adding a rusty tin bell to the ribbon.

The holly at the top is made up of loads of the Stitchels holly, coloured, Stickled and then paper flowers added for colour. I added a couple of Prima poinsettia's with some silk Ivy pieces and finally added a rusty tin star to the hangy bit.

Thanks for looking..have a great day and don't forget that to be in with a chance of winning this piece you need to join in with the challenge ... which will be open until 23:00 next Saturday (28th Nov).

Cornish Temptress!

...I know, I know, I am really rubbish at thinking up original titles for my posts...but, this one actually makes sense (to me at least LOL)...bear with me....

The Gingersnap Creations are being sponsored this month by Paper Temptress...and it just so happens that I was sent some gorgeous cardstock to play with...I mean it folks, it is really lush thick and I decided to make a card...and I used last month's "stamp of the month" by Cornish Heritage Farms here is my...Cornish you can see what I was meaning with the title LOL

I used some of the fab cardstock to make the mats for The Pine's stamp, which was stamped with Pine Needles Distress Ink....and then I blended more DI's over the background and splatted it with water to make a blotchy snowy effect.

The little sentiment is also a CHF stamp and I added a couple of Prima poinsettia's before smothering a lot of Picket Fence Distress Stickles all over the place to get a snowy and frosty look.

Thanks for looking..have a great day!

Maya Christmas

...Aha, here I sit...chortling to myself again...Maya Christmas...well, Merry Christmas actually...but I am trying to be funny .. again LOL

When Wendy from The Stamp Attic sent me some Maya Road stash I had to do a little jig...I looooove Maya Road more than I love chocolate :O)) I decided to get a little festive and made a little teensy hanging ornament for the Christmas tree using one of the pages of the little book. I covered it with Distress Ink, used ... *stop yawning LOL* Wendy Vecchi's amazingly wonderful Studio 490 stamps and then jazzed it up with some Rock Candy Stickles.

Now, I was sent a Maya Road die sheet which means that it is an A4 piece of chip that you push out the pieces...and in this pack is a backing piece of cardstock to keep it sturdy I guess...and the card is grey...which matches the Maya Rd...which means I have an A4 sheet of really thick card to play with I stamped the sentiment onto this and then used more Distress Inks to colour it. The little dangly bit is actually one piece from a Maya Rd acrylic keychain...alcohol inked and then a tree made with shrink plastic to finish. The ricracs are all Maya Rd too....hence....the title of this post...the keychain is sooooo sweet..and each little acrylic piece has a special protective coat which stops it from getting scratched before you use it....tis easy to peel off clever!

Thanks for looking....Have a great day...apparently it is going to be dreadful weather with gale force winds and lots of rain...fab excuse for staying indoors and keeping warm :O)) and getting inky LOL

Ready Steady Stamp!

...I have finally gotten around to joining in with the fab Ready Steady Stamp challenge which this time is:

I used Alcohol Inks in Cool Peri and Purple Twilight to make a background and then used Tim Holtz Christmas stamps for the stamping.

The snowman and the deer are both painted with Rock Candy Cracklepaint but it isn't showing up on my rubbish photo's LOL I used Rock Candy Distress Stickles on top of the crackles to emphasise them but that doesn't show either .. I really do need to be taught how to take a photo!!

The snowflakes are Maya Road Chipboard which was Gesso'd and then painted with Antique Pewter Cracklepaint and I added gems to the middles to finish them off.

The skinny is something I have never made before and really enjoyed working with this size...I cut some mountboard to stick the glossy card onto which gave it a bit more stability and then mounted this onto some more background glossy card which was layered with black and silver cardstock.

I hope the cards/skinny's are ok for the challenge! Thanks for looking and have a great day!

The Turtle and the Mouse

My very first Christmas card of 2009!!! One down, 200 to go LOL

The Gingersnap Creations team are being sponsored by Cornish Heritage Farms this month and I was over the moon to receive the cutest Christmas stamp I had to play immediately and make a card using it.

The image, called Turtle Sled actually launches today so you can buy one...I hugely recommend you do...cos I had such a great time with this one...and have used it more too! :O)) I used ProMarkers to colour the image, and even though the stamp is cling mounted, those clever peeps at CHF put a colouring guide in the I copied it LOL The little sentiment is also from CHF and is on their new Friendly Kritters Holiday Expressions plate

The paper is Basic Grey which I made a fancy border on using a Martha Stewart punch and cardstock by Bazzill and then a Prima fancy poinsettia flower to garnish!

Thanks for looking, have a fab day
