WOYWW... Candy Time...

...ok, so... especially for Sue... Holy Moly and thrice... and... cor blimey indeedily! This last week has fair whipped itself past again and here we are, back at Wednesday and time for the desk hoppers of the Bloggy World to unite in the marathon hop that is What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday... hosted by the inimitable Julia, click HERE for all the deets on how to join in.

So. My desk. Well, my actual real desk is devoid of any kind of craftyness... it is clean, tidy, mess free and looking very very boring... but... I have got yesterday's desk to show you instead. Day three at the Stitches trade show and this is my desk just after 9am... neat and tidy and full of inky and stampy goodies. And my samples, across the front... and my Grid Blocks *ones I actually bought for me*... of which, someone decided to relieve me of. Well, one Spool sample and 4 Grid Blocks to be precise. I am NOT happy and, in a way, I am hoping that whomever decided that their need was greater than mine is reading this post and feels totally and utterly ashamed of themselves. We are crafters. We all love stash. And, up til yesterday morning, I thought that we all respected each others stash... it seems, however, that there is, in any walk of life, someone who has no scruples.

Moving on... on a much happier note... check out this display!!! All the gorgeous brand new Studio 490 stamps, Art Parts and Blossom Bucket embellishments... and... real, proper, genuine (and GORGEOUS) artwork by Wendy Vecchi... seriously, that art... lushness... sooo many little details and elements, I could have gazed at it for days (well, I did, when no one was looking lol)

Last week I didn't get chance to get around to very many peeps' blogs... so ... here's a little candy giveaway to one person who leaves me a comment on this post... my way of a thank you (and a sorry) During the show I have been making little bits and bobs using the gorgeous Studio 490 range and Ranger products... demo-ing on Art Parts, Grunge, Distress, Idea-ology... all kinds of loverliness. And... eventually I managed to finish the piece and put this Spool together. This is what I will be giving away - just leave a comment on this post and I will randomly pick a winner next Wednesday, February 29th.

I have a cunning plan for today... catch up on yonder t'internet, blogs, Sunday Stamper entries, emails etc... they have been neglected this past few days... and then... unpacking my tote trolley jobby and putting stuff away (I am not going to break this resolution of keeping the Room of Stash tidy.. ohhh no, I am going to be a good girl lol) and then... I shall adopt a supine position on the sofa and catch up on the tellybox... a couple of Corrie omnibuses (now, are they omnibuses or omnibi? lol) should keep me occupied :O)) Thanks for looking... TTFN!

HOW RUDE!!! I don't understand it... how could a fellow crafter STEAL from one of their own? It's just wrong! However, I love your spool creation - FABulous-ness! Miss you... Els xxx

How awful that someone grabbed your grid blocks and snaffled your spool - what is the world coming to?!
I love your pretty spool and would really like to give it a new home if I'm lucky enough to win it. Thank you for your generousity - you are a star!

Oh, my poor dear! You are actually lucky that it hasn't happened before... Yes, dishonesty exists everywhere, sadly. My bead friends have had jewelry, patterns, even pictures stolen, some of the pictures reposted on the 'net on other comercial sites. It is a travesty, and there is a special place in H##l reserved for them.
Your spool is drop-dead gorgeous!!

Hi Hels, Sorry to hear about your Crafty Stash. It is horrible when our trust in others is abused. The 3D sculpture you have created is stunning. I can't quite believe you are willing to give this masterpiece away. I would be overjoyed to give it a new home so fingers crossed for the draw. With love & admiration.

Caz said...

I will be polite and not use any swear words!!! As it was a trade show, surely the people attending could get things at wholesale price not "shop price" which makes the STEALING of your grid blocks an even bigger shabby act than a non-trade person doing it - it's an appalling thing to do whoever they are. I can't imagine how one person could STEAL those blocks and a spool, they would need a second person to block them from view, wouldn't they??? In which case there are at least 2 mean and despicable people who are hopefully reading this and package up what they STOLE and send the package back to you!!!
The spool is stunning BTW!!!

Take it as a compliment, they are obviously totally untalented... and are completely envious of your very beautiful work! You have inspired me to get the distress inks out again, and after the Sir Tim shows yesterday on QVC I am revitalised! I shall also lay on my sofa and contimplate what I shall create next ! lol xxx

Redanne said...

I just love Lizzy's comment and I think she is probably right but at a trade show - you would never expect that in a million years. I do know one prominent craft person who had her handbag stolen at one of these events. I guess there will always be opportunists out there.... Your spool creation is stunning, I would give it a good home too. You deserve a rest!

How rubbish you got stuff stolen. I recall at my local stamp store they had a fab book created by the Magenta team to show all their stamps and someone stole it. It's just so disheartening when that happens. But your piece is lovely and no-one can steal your talent so that's something. Happy WOYWW.

Hi Hels, how bliddy rotten that someone stole from you. It's sdomehow worse that it happened at Stitches, where everyone who attends is a retailer. May they never stamp anything straight with their ill-gotten grid blocks.
Apart from that horrible thing, I'm glad you had such a great time. Your samples are gorgeously gorgeous & thank you for giving us the chance to in that little beauty.
I hope you're having a fab - and relaxing - day.

Hi Hels mate - reading this has made the penny drop on the FB comment. Why oh why would somebody go up and pocket something that was there for the enjoyment of others, then decide your stash was going to be theirs. These actions seem so incomprehensible to me - but then, we're in the 'good guy' camp - unlike that robbing B@'t@'d... Sorry you had to be on the end of their trashy actions.

I hope by some miracle, that someone has a conscience, but being as they clearly can't have one who knows how many more people have suffered at the hands of this person? Hrmmmmm and tut tut.

That display is mind boggling and those samples are divine. clearly a labour of love! Wouldn't expect anything less!

I know us crafters jest when we see nice things and say things like 'i'm going to steal that' and I want that for my own etc - but to actually DO it. Nah, still can't get me head round it. Shame on them. Hope they have sleepless nights forever!!!!

It's a horrible feeling when some one nicks your craft stuff. I have had my Timmy distressing tool gone missing.
While at a stamp camp, my best stamping buddie had her almost 'new' looking cuttlebug plates swapped for a pair of very well used and scratched plates! They are so bad that when you use them the scratched pattern on the plate embosses onto her cards. The lovely lady running the camp gave my friend money to buy new ones.
Love your creation Hels :)
