Sunday Stamper - Week 154 - Camouflage

Goodly Morning Stampers... and a very happy Sunday to you all. Many thanks for all the fabby stripy and starry entries last week, it was grand to see so many Star Spangled Banners out there. This week the challenge is set around another of my old fave songs... now, I am probably showing my age now (BTW, we are officially on the countdown to my birthday now... 29 days and counting lol) Anyways... this song was always on Radio 1 when I was studying for my O Levels... here is a linky to YouTube in case you have never heard it before :O)) So... the theme this week is to use Camouflage/Khaki/Green Colours. To join in with the challenge is simples... make a little something, it can be anything you fancy... include the theme and some stamping... leave me a comment here with a link to the place you are showing your entry and then I can hop on over to see your creation. The challenge will remain open until 21:00 Saturday May 21st 2011.

My entry this week is being a right old pain... mainly because it is refusing to be photogenic and the colours are coming out more bluey that the green that they actually are. I used Toad Hall and Honey Dew Fresco Finish paints for the frame and added smudges of Old Gold along the edges. The insert has Toad Hall painted on, the Fresco Crackle Glaze and then Honey Dew painted over the top. I smudged some more of the Old Gold over the crackles to tone them in and added a bit of stamping... butterflies from Papillion by The Duke of Distress.

The mini square frame is hanging (I am so loving making these that I seem to have developed an addiction lol) and this had the Fresco treatment too. The stamp in the centre is my olde faithful PSX Butterfly, stamped onto painted cardstock and cut out... and the body is actually a rusty jobby from a Gisella Graham heart that I found laying about in the Room of Stash. The chain is the extender from an old necklace and I just added a couple of Idea-ology Tassels and some pearls to it with Jump Rings.

So... last night... I got myself all settled in to watch Dr Who... I usually make the Sunday Stamper on a Saturday evening when I am listening to Alan Carr on Radio 2 but this week I decided to be uber organised and record Alan and eat early and watch Dr Who and then the Eurovision Song Contest. Well, there we were just about to get ready for our evening of telly when "clunk... beeeeeep... click" A power cut! Humph! So, we checked the boxy thing in the garage, nothing out of order there... I went to see if the neighbours were off too... yep. So, we phoned the Leccy Co and they said that it wouldn't be back on until 21.15!!! So, a lot of cussing and huffing and stomping about later, I found some candles and started setting them into holders and onto little dishes... being prepared for darkness etc. I had literally just finished burning my fingers trying to get the candles in their pots when... "beeeeeep, click, click" It was back on! Hurrah! We missed Dr Who but that is now recording tonight, Alan failed to record so I am offering up a prayer to the God of the T'Internet in the vain hope he lets me have two hours of fast broadband so I can "Listen Again" and yes, I watched the Eurovision. I rather liked Romania's entry... and I did think that Jedward were entertaining... and as for Blue? They was robbed! At least the UK did a bit better than previous years though. Anyways... I am off to bed... tis late and I ache and my poor old back is groaning so I shall say... thanks for looking and... TTFN!

This is really lovely hun, love the colours :-) Thanks for the vid link, it was part way through before I realised I'd heard it before. You have such good taste in music ;-) I do rather like Jedward's song, a good pop song - didn't like the shoulder things though!

love the butterfly hanging. sorry you missed your show. but at least the lights came on sooner than they said rather than being off longer. i was just over on ellen's blog and saw the chester cheesy cheetos curtains. how great! and how many of those bags did you eat while you were there? kind of convenient to have them just hanging around like that.
