Sunday Stamper - Week 125 - Dem Bones...

Morning Stampers! Thank you ALL for joining in with last weeks challenge... more gorgeously lush artwork to see on my travels :O)) This week, as promised... it's time for a fun challenge... so... you probably guessed from the title... the theme is... BONES/SKELETONS. Yes, I have embraced all things Hallowe'en this year and gone... erm... a bit mental with all the skelingtons and spookiness!

I have made a little folding book from a sheet of 12" sq paper... from Mr Holtz's Vintage Shabby stack... colouring with DI's and then adding some coloured in Witch images from the new Hallowe'en set.

I made three tags to go into the folded book... made a complete hash of the gluing of the folds.. erm.. I ended up gluing the top of the fold instead of the bottom... so I had to prize the whole lot apart and start again LOL

The cover of the book is actually made up from strips of the new Hobgoblin Tissue Tape.. .and yes, I didn't need this when it first came out... now, I cannot think of a thing to make without it ROFL I used just three DI colours; Spiced Marmalade, Dusty Concord and Aged Mahogany and added on stamping in Black Soot. The cat is stamped twice in Black Soot and embossed with clear powder, then I cut into him and made him 3d with his head, back legs and tail... then popped this onto silicone glue for more 3D-ness

I had another mishap when making the last skelington... stamped in white paint onto Grungepaper and then clear embossed.. I was being so careful cutting around him to make sure he was neat... yep, that was good... then, colouring in the edges with Black Soot and a blending tool... whoooops, off came his head... so I figured he might like to be twizzeling his head on his finger, basketball styleee... well it is meant to be spooky! :O))

So, to join in with the challenge, all you need to do is make a piece of artwork - cards, tags, altered art, ATC's - whatever you fancy making... include the theme and some stamping... leave a comment for me here with a link to the place you are showing your entry and I will hop on over to see you. The challenge will remain open until 21:00 Saturday October 23rd '10. I am off to make more Hallowe'eny stuff now... thanks for looking and have a FAB day! TTFN

Hels x

These are just great. I can relate to chopping the heads of things. In fact anything that has a narrow bit I need to cut round usually ends up being chopped off!

When I saw this cute book, my favorite part was the tag with the head-holding skeleton. I thought, "How genius of Hels to cut off his head and put it in his hand!" When I read that it was a mistake I had to laugh. It was just one of those "happy" accidents that turned out even better that originally planned! You always make your mistakes AMAZING!!! LOVE IT!
