...Guess what??? It was Mother's Day yesterday...and...I got a pressie!!! Nowt strange there? Well, I haven't got any "kids" ... but I have got an AlfieCat, who apparently told his Daddy that he wanted to buy Mummy a present and 'cos he is such a clever little kitty, he even knew that Mummy wanted a set of Wendy Vecchi Studio 490 stamps....hey ....we are all stark raving mad in this house!! Grim did the phoning mind you...I don't think that Wendy at The Stamp Attic speaks Cattish...so she probably wouldn't have understood Alfie *erm....yep....totally raving mad here* and of course, Alfie hasn't got a credit card...*think I better stop now!!*
So, I got inky today with my new set of 490 stamps...they are the Home Art set and I loooove them...actually, I love all the stamps equally and cannot have a favourite overall, but today's fave is the ickle house...how sweet! I used Wendy's Book 2 for inspiration and created a version of one of her pieces in the book...I know, I am such a copycat! *pardon the pun :O))* The base of the piece is a 4" square mountboard offcut which I coloured with Antique Linen and then Tea Dye Distress Inks...then stamped over with Vintage Photo using the Plaid design. I brought the edges of the piece in with Vintage Photo too.
The house was stamped onto Grungepaper and coloured with Stormy Sky and stamped over with the dashes background...and I made a little door for it using more mountboard and Wild Honey DI. The Wish was stamped in black, as were the scrolly bits and the stitched blocks.
I coloured some old twine with Wild Honey for the buttons and then added a leafy piece, again made from Grungepaper...added a couple of teensy flowers with a snap centre and then attached one of the Idea-ology keys...with a Type Charm hanging off it...H for house, or H for Hels...either way it works LOL
Thanks for looking...am off to see what else I can make with the new set...and to give AlfieCat another big cuddle...cos he is a clever little darling! Oh....and...that piccie above....how cool is that! Made my day indeedy ... Sherry from Got Art went to Carson yesterday and I had said to her that if she saw Wendy V to say Hels said Hi and give her a hug...and this is what Wendy did!! Happy dances goin on here!!
Hels x
**EDIT......Dur, I am such a numbskull...this is my entry for the Lots To Do Challenge this week..which is Locks and Keys....all the excitement of the kitty's Mother's day pressie and a Wendy pic took over ROFL**

Lovely project Hels, and wasn't it great of Wendy to do that? :)
love this creation so much!! so many gorgeous details!! Hugs Juls
Love the artwork Hels. Cats are very clever you know, but not as clever as my dogs. They send e-mails to other doggies on our Yahoo Group. I think my cats would if they could get on the PC but the dogs don't let them, lol, x
Hey, lucky Hels, well done Alfie, how clever to pick a set mummy hasn't already got (hey, we can all play at being mad!)
How sweet of Wendy!
Oh,yes, almost forgot to say, amazing work (cos it goes without saying!)

Another bril masterpiece. I love that 'tartan' stamp. Must have a look for one of those. xx
Love your mountboard piece Hels, Alfie was clever, (and Grim!) How lovely of Wendy to pose for the picture for you. Glad you had a good weekend, Judith x
Great piece Hels and well done to Alife cat - Fraser dog wasn't that clever, I didn't get anything, but then I guess I did get holiday stash so can't complain too much!!!!
Just goes to show cats must be cleverer than dogs doesn't it 'cos my cuddly mutt didn't tell his Dad I would like some Wendy V stamps. But then again maybe he did and Dad didn't listen as usual, Lol!
Love the piece you've made with your stamps Hels. Fab colours too.
Hugs
Lesley Xx
Oh how SWEET, Hels! My kitties never forget their mommy either, and they rarely disappoint, like kids often do. Wonderful stamps and your project is FAB! Love looking at all of the elements. We all love you, Hels, not just Wendy! xxD

What a fab creation Hels, lots of variety I think its brill, yes I know you are all batchy LOL in your house cos I have heard Alfiecat talk and do other tricks, so no suprise to me he managed to order you set of delightful stamps and hope he made you a card also. a great photo to by the way, how nice was that xx
Alfie cat tried hard to explain Hels but Grim had to take over in the end, still its the thought that counts and errrr the stamps in the end. From the look of the results it was a good decision on Alfie's part :)
A wonderful creation Hels.
Fab piece, the house is great and what a clever puss cat you have! Nice metal tute too, I'm still resisting though!
