A Little Sew & Sew

Hey Peeps

I have been AWOL!!! I went away for a few days to visit relatives and have been really busy so haven't had chance to do any crafting at all!

However, a few days before I got busy, I managed to make a sort of canvassy thing for The Artistic Stamper designs.

I used an 8" x 8" canvas, turning it over and using the back of it instead of the front. I used watered down PVA glue and squidged some old dress making patterns onto the frame to make a textured border. Once these had dried, which took ages, I painted over them using the mica powder paints available from The Artistic Stamper. These are really lush to work with and the colours are so deep and just perfect for what I needed them for. Once the main colour red had dried, I overpainted using the gold, this was as an accent and also to enhance the centre of the canvas, which I also painted gold.

The centre was filled up with pieces of dressmaking pattern, which once painted with watered down PVA go transparent. I stamped some images onto more dressmaking patterns and cut these out, painted over with the PVA and then added a little box which I had filled with tiny bottles and shrunk images.

I added a little Taylors dummy which I coloured with Distress Ink and then stamped with a script stamp from The Artistic Stamper. The buttons and ephemera are all from the fab Jamboree Bags which are also available from there.

The stamp plates I used are Artists Plate, Embroidery Plate and Calligraphic plate. I am well chuffed with the over all outcome of this project, it is the first time I have tried anything like this and I just love the theme and the colours.

Thanks for looking - as I am snowed under at the moment, the Pocket challenge set last week will run for another week, so if you still would like to join in, I would love to see your creations - and if you have already joined in, thank you, and you can have another go!!! LOL
