Sunday Stampers - Week 29 - Send In The Clowns

Morning Stampers!

Thank you to Dan for setting a brill challenge last week and thank you to you all for joining in. :O)) *I know I still haven't posted my entry for last week, it has been one of those weeks and I haven't had chance to make what I really want to - but I will be getting around to it soon....honest!!

This week there is a brand new challenge - you will have guessed from the title that it is Clowns. Now, I don't know about you but I really am scared of clowns!! So, why has she set this as a challenge then you ask? Well, there is a clause in my clown phobia - I happen to love the Pierrot type of clowns and as a young lass, I used to collect them. Goodness knows what happened to them all - I guess the were confined to the parents loft and probably are still there, gathering dust :O)) The type of clowns that I really am scared of are like the clockwork ones that were in Dr. Who.....blimey, I have a shiver down my spine thinking about that!!

I have some lovely Pierrot style stamps from PaperArtsy that I used to use all the time but have neglected for a while. I made this canvas for a friend - and I admit that I am cheating slightly cos I made this a few weeks ago and Hilda actually has received the canvas already - another one of those "time" excuses I am afraid :O))

Anyways, to make my canvas, I firstly covered the base with white Gesso. Once this had dried, I painted on some Cracklepaint onto two of the corners of the canvas. The colour was Scattered Straw but you will see that I have changed this to co-ordinate with the colour theme - and I did this by simply blending my inks over the top of the paint once it had dried.

I used Ancient Page inks - these are so lush that I have fallen in love with them. They seem to have a deeper pigment in them so they cover canvases really well. Next, I selected some Stampbord tiles and coloured these with the same inks. The Stampbord is available from The Artistic Stamper. I used a black StaZon ink pad to stamp my images, which as I said, are all Pierrot Plates from PaperArtsy except the Pierrot on the inchie size piece, which is from The Queens' Dresser Drawers. Once I had completed this stamping, I edged all the pieces with the StaZon, just to finish the tiles nicely.

The background stamping dots are another fave of mine; the stamp doesn't look like much but it is brilliant for adding depth to any project and it is from The Stamp Bug. I fastened the Stampbord onto the canvas using Glossy Accents - I know I always use this for glueing things but I have found it to be the best adhesive too!

I hope that you like this theme and cannot wait to see what you all come up with - please remember that you can make anything you like, so long as there is some stamping included in your piece. Once you have made your entry, please post here and add a link to the place where you are showing your work of art :O))

I hope you have a good day everyone and get nice and inky and messy! I am looking for a few Guest Designers for my Sunday Stamper challenge so if you would like to set a theme one week, please can you add a comment to your post too and let me know how to contact you so we can arrange the details etc. The past themes can be found in the Archive of the Sunday Stamper - I always have a song title that ties in with the theme for the challenge too which is just my way of getting you all humming of a Sunday :O))
Hugs Hels x
