Teally Textured...

**edit... DOH! I just seen I spelt the title wrong... dur, musta left my brain cell in bed today LOL*
Goodly morning... I have a new favest product... I know, I seem to have fave things all the time ...but at the moment I am loving Viva Ferro... it is a metallicy gritty texture paste and I found out last night that it bubbles when you heat it up... a happy accident needless to say. I was faffing with a canvas for my last DT contribution for the Fiskarettes and was using the Ferro and stamping into it... I over watered my stamp and the surface of the Ferro was a tad...erm... soggy... so I used my heat gun to dry it off and it started to bubble... hurrah 'cos I have only a smidge of Terra left - which always bubbles when you use heat on it. If you would like to see how I made this canvas, please hop on over to the Fiskarettes - it should be on there shortly :O)) And because my other fave thing at the moment is making flowers, I used some Turquoise Ten Seconds Studio metal and the Paper Artsy Hot Picks flowers again... I loved those gold ones I made the other day, so made some more :O)) I popped some wire spirals behind them and a metal stud into the middle. I can feel an addiction coming on LOL




You will never guess what I found the other day... I meant to tell you but I think I blanked it from my mind cos it is rather yuk... if you are eating, you may want to look away now LOL You know that my AlfieCat has been playing outside since we moved and that we laughed at him at first and said he would never be able to catch anything? Well, of course, he proved us wrong, we have had several birdies and mices brought in for us... bless him, our little predator loves bringing pressies home for us. Well, the other day I was sitting in the living room watching the telly... and I heard some thumping about in the kitchen. I went to investigate and there was Alf, flinging a mouse about and playing with it... needless to say, I managed to grab Alf and get the mousey off him... too late for old Mickey though *sad face* so he had a burial in some tissue paper and off he went into the great big Mousey Hole in the sky. Later that day, AlfieCat is running around like a loon in the dining room... I didn't see evidence of mices so thought he was just having a mad moment... Well, the next morning as I was walking through the dining room you will never guess what I saw on the table! Mickey's brother! Yes, laying there on the table was a deceased mousey. Eeewwwwwww!!! We think that Alf brought home another mouse and was flinging it about like he does and it landed on the table... and... the table is out of bounds to him so obviously he couldn't go and retrieve it... I didn't know whether to be mad at him for bringing in yet another Mickey or to praise him for not going on the table! Serves us right for laughing at him and saying he would never be able to catch anything! He has got a collar that has a big bell on it... I reckon he turns into StealthCat when he goes outside. Anyways... I thought I would tell you what he has been up to cos a few peeps have been asking after him recently... there you have it, we have a seriously stealthy predator AlfieCat now LOL Thanks for stopping by... have a grand day... WOYWW... AlfieCat Takes Over...& Some Texture

...cor blimey O'Reilly, where on Earth has the last week whizzed off to??? Anyone else suffering with FastForward Syndrome where it seems like only yesterday that it was last week??? *except on a Sunday of course, when yesterday would be last week ROFL* Anyways... today is Wednesday which means that the loyal and faithful followers of The Leader of The Desk Hoppers, also known as Mrs Julia Dunnit... hop all around the globe, looking at each others workspaces and on many occasions, furry friends...if you are stumped and wonder what I am waffling on about today, click HERE to see Julia's blog, the deets are all on there... and the hop commences!




First of all... I made a big mistake made yesterday... I spent a couple of hours lounging on the new sofa *and whizzing backwards and forwards on the recliner - but don't tell Grim* and in my absence a certain little black n white furry fluff literally booted me out of my room of stash! Indeedily, AlfieCat has commandeered my chair and desk and even did a spot of reading - that old book that I tore up to use for art has been entertaining him all evening *actually, that is a fib but it makes him sound really intelligent LOL*




So, my desk looks pretty much the same as any other week... so I thought I would pop a piccie of one of my drawers on... and no, I am not going to lower the tone by showing a photo of my pants... the computer screen ain't big enough for that anyway LOL... inside this particular drawer is a little stash of Embossing Powders... some of them are the original first ones I ever bought over 7 years ago! Others are recent additions... the UTEE especially - I loooove UTEE loads and loads and the new orange and red ones have already been earmarked for a project that is still inside my head :O))




I am posting this early today as I am off on my travels... letting the train take the strain and all that... I am going to actually inspect Jennie's desk - to tell you the truth, I think someone kidnapped the real Jennie cos that desk of hers has been waaaay too tidy this past few weeks... I shall remedy that... I am going to put my messy head on and go in and leave it looking really untidy *mind, you, if Jennie reads this before I get there, chances are she won't answer the door ROFL* Oh, yes, the piece of art that is just above this waffle is my DT thing for the Fiskarettes which is showing today... I used some Terra and a ShapeBoss! I know... you wouldn't expect to hear those two products mentioned together but... to see how I did it... please click HERE... oh and I would loooove it if you could leave me a comment on there too... let me know whatcha fink and all that! Anyways... WOYWW... Getting Messier...

...tis good to see that a few weeks of me being a good girl and tidying away after each crafty session is starting to become boring... you should see the state of the floor behind me... there is a teensy track from desk to door... baaaad Hels! So, what am I on about??? Well, today is Wednesday and there is this amazing thing that was started by Julia... basically, you blog your workspace/desk/mess (!) and then link on Julia's Blog... and the hop all around the World to visit fellow messy peeps, I mean crafters... and have a good old nosey and see if they are as messy as you are... if you haven't already tried it... go for it... tis a little community now and it's a lot of fun too :O))




Not a lot of art on the desk today... there is a tag that is kinda hanging about waiting to have something else put on it... I ran out of Mojo the other day so it's sitting there all alone, waiting for some Idea-ology or Grungepaper or somesuch thing. Check out the time on my clocks... yep, insomnia city again... I have a cramp in my back and it was impossible to lay down and lay still... so without wanting to interupt Grim's snoring, I mean his sleep... I got up at 02.30am and me and AlfieCat had an 'after midnight' feast... Alfie had salmon (not real salmon, he ain't that spoilt LOL) and I had a coffee and a Caramel Digestive...oooh, have you tried them??? They are LUSH and me only having one just shows my super strength will power! *actually, I was too lazy to go back to the kitchen and get another*




Ooooh, and before I forget... tis my day for posting on the Fiskarettes today... I have made a little card using stencilling and one of my favest stamps (mmm, I seem to have a LOT of favest stamps all of a sudden!) ... this is Moon Girl by Stampotique.. isn't she adorable? Feeling Funky & Fisky...

... I know, hangs me head in shame at these sad attempts at coolio titles...actually, I am feeling Funky today ... cos it is my second outing into the Bubbly Funk blog... which you can find HERE... along with deets on how I made this...





Isn't it just the cooooolest little frame? It is from Tando Creative - who, I have to say, are just about quenching my lurve of all things grey and chippyboardy :O)) As well as feeling Funky, I am also feeling Fisky... actually, it is my second foray onto the Fiskarettes DT today too... so I got a bit free-handy with a Shape Cutter... I am totally astounded that I managed to play with this little tool... it scared me a bit when I first saw it but now I can see the possibilities are endless...to see the piece in full...click HERE :O))




Today is the start of the tree work in the garden...we have 3 HUGE conifers that are being taken down and removed... along with an old apple, elder and spindleberry tree... and then they will start on the front and get rid of the ivy, the old cherry trees that are making the drive a mare with their roots... and finally they will clear the side... a lot of work... and you know what I am like, easily distracted... I will probably spend the day looking out of the window at what the guys are doing... I will get some pics if they let me... it will be good to finally have some daylight in the garden too! And don't worry, AlfieCat will be safely inside... I had to laugh at Whyducks comment yesterday... she said that AlfieCat could drag the guys in through the catflap and the fat ones would get left outside... in principle it is a grand idea...'cept we ain't got a catflap LOL Have a goodly day everyone... A Funking Good Heart...

...I said fuNking!!! Yep sireeee, today is my first day proper on the Bubbly Scrumptious DT Blog.. so I have made a post there with what I made.. and have hot footed it over here to show you a teensy taster...*oh, ok, I scheduled it.. I mean, me... up at 7am? ROFL*



Anyway, enough of my prattling on about my love of lounging in my bed.. which, I hasten to add, is very comfy indeedily, hence me enjoying lounging in it.. hey, I am off again with the waffling already! All the bits n bobs you need to know about how to make the piece and what I did etc are HERE.. please pop over if you get chance and leave me some feedback.. I am a very shy and retiring lass, as I am sure you will have all gathered by now (!).. so please be kind to me ROFL I am so chuffed & honoured to be asked to be part of the Bubbly Funk DT - I will be making my posts every Friday from now on... and, get this... sometimes I can post a... recipe!!! So... watch out cos I may just give the famous choccy cake recipe an outing... or the even less famous "swill" recipe an outing... there is a story behind the "swill" name - I will tell you about it one day :O))




Also today is my first proper day on the Fiskarette DT - I got sent a lovely box of Fiskars yummies to play with and made a little wall/door hanging jobby... all the "deets" for this are HERE. I think I am starting to suffer with that very common condition that only ever seems to rear its head between August and May each year - and then definitely once every FOUR years for about...ooooh, far too long... I think it is called Football Widow-itis! Actually, Grim has been rather restrained and only watched about 73 games so far and re-watched the goals like a million zillion times... anyone else have this problem I wonder??? And...
