Gooooodly Morning to all you lovely Compendium-ers! Today sees the start of a
brand new Compendium of Curiosities 3 Challenge. To see all the details
on how to join in with the challenge, CLICK HERE. Also, if you pop across to Linda's blog, you will see all gorgeous creations that my talented teamies on the Curiosity Crew have made... well worth taking a cuppa and a packet of Digestives :O) The challenge is sponsored by the Inspiration Emporium this time... so you will have a chance of winning a very generous Gift
Certificate to spend there. As ever, Tim & Mario have very kindly
donated goodies for an extra prize... which will be awarded to the
"Curiosity Crew's Choice"... so you have two chances of winning fabby
prizes! If you haven't got your Compendium book just yet, you can order
a signed copy directly from the man himself... HERE. And... Linda has also done a FAQ page for you.. HERE it is... all the info you will need is listed there.
This week we are turning to Page 60 of the book and playing with Woodlands & Tinsel Twine. As ever with the Compendium Challenge, neither I, nor the Curiosity Crew, will be posting the technique
instructions and participants must not do so either. We all want to
encourage people to buy Tim's awesome book; giving away the instructions
wouldn’t be fair to him. Linda will have no choice but to un-link any
entries that don’t follow this rule.
My entry this week actually has been one of those projects I have been intending to make for.... FOUR years! I know! Talk about slow coach! Anyways... I managed to get a bumper pack of Tim's Woodlands and decided to chop them up so they were all different sizes... cool huh? I also found a little wreath that came with a smaller pack of Woodlands last year and it was sitting there, unloved, uncoloured etc... so that made it onto my Configuation Box.
Last week much madness and mayhem decended on the Room of Stash... I decided to tidy up! For the last year I have had a pot of Rock Candy Distress Glitter sitting next to me on the desk.... and yep, I tidied it up... and can I find it? Well, actually no, at the time of making this piece, I couldn't find it... so I prayed to St Anthony who ignored me until about half an hour ago and voila, the pot of Distress Glitter was there, in my work box... the one I cart about with me to classes... um... too late? Well, it is for these photo's but not for my project, I shall glitter to within and inch of my life later :O)
There are lots of "natural" goodies on the box that I collected from a cheapy bargain shop at the end of last year... they came in handy! I used hot glue to stick them down - yep, I have a blister on my thumb now... but everyone knows that if you use a hot glue gun it is the law to get a blister right?
I used a bit of Grungeboard covered with Sticky Back Canvas to cut the Prancing Deer... then I cut him again just from Grunge, stuck the two together and then inked with Frayed Burlap and Walnut Stain inks, fraying the edges of him and then popping some Tinsel Twine around his neck so he has a jazzy scarf... adding in a little Christmas Token for decoration.
There be a couple of mini baubles hiding behind the bow (cannot believe I managed to make a bow that doesn't look like something Alfie hacked up! My bow making skills are nil usually!) and I coloured the baubles with a smidge of Alcohol Ink to make them a bit mercury glass like... shame I am a dingbat and didn't get a proper piccie of them...
That's all for now - don't forget, you have two whole weeks to enter the challenge... and a bat at the chance of grabbing the Crew's Choice prize which is a mahooosive haul of stash donated personally by Tim & Mario... so if you are joining in, remember to comment on all the Crew's blogs and you will be in with a chance of winning that too *believe me, this is one gigantic pile of goodies*! I will just say a big thank you to every one of you who has taken part in the challenge so far, it has been great to visit your blogs and see your wonderful interpretations of the challenge themes! Thanks for looking, have an inky inspirational day! TTFN

Love this piece theres just soooooo much to look at, its like an advent calendar without the doors!. Fabulous work. A Merry Christmas to you and yours.
Oh, MY! I feel a wordy comment coming on! Hels, this beautiful Configurations truly just made my heart skip several beats! I am so inspired by nature, and you have just hit the nail on the head with capturing that moment where nature meets bling! I'm almost happy I did not see this before I made my Configurations project with some of my Shiny Bright collection (just posted yesterday--had been working on it for weeks and used two of the "leftover" boxes on projects I've linked on L3 CCV3!). I too had my Conf. box for several years before I finally made the commitment to gussy it up.
You've just done an awesome job, and so well worth hanging onto your box to wait for this inspiration to hit. I bet this looks lovely in your home! Merry Christmas!
Gorgeous project! Love all details in your wonderful work! barbarayaya
