Oh... The Shame!!!

...now, if you are of a nervous disposition and all that, it might be best if you look away now... because I am doing something that I have to do in order to make me do something that I have been putting off for days.  *NB, that necessarily isn't making sense at the moment.... *  Ok, so I am officially "outing" myself.  Here goes,  my name is Hels and I have adopted slatternly behaviours and now have a Room of Trash....   and here it is!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know, I know, I know... some people would love to have a lovely room all to themselves for their crafty stash.  And I have one and I have abused it.  *hangs head in shame*  What am I doing showing you what it looks like?  Well, like I said, I am outing myself.  Because at the moment it is so bad I have nowhere to sit, work at or, come to think of it, I can't find a thing either!  I figured that if I show you the photo's I will have no choice but to clean it up, sort it out and get it back to tidy again.  The amount of time spent prevaricating is getting out of hand too... I really don't need to see another You Tube video of a cute cat chasing a laser light or falling into a cardboard box do I?  Do I?  Nope!  Here's another shot of the mess...

And in my defence, it has become this bad because last week I did all those telly shows and came home, bunged the boxes in here and dumped some stuff out of them and put more stuff into them ready for my workshop last Saturday... and then Sunday I was tired and aching so I decided to put it off until Monday, then the sad news about Mrs T came on the radio so I watched the news all afternoon... and yesterday  I spent a wonderful day in Londinium with Anita Houston who is over from the good old US of A.... and now I am fast thinking up excuses to not tidy it today... well, there are some dusty cobwebs that need attention and you can see from the photo that some of the clocks I collect have actually stopped... several weeks ago!  And the kitchen floor needs a wipe over... and I have some buttons that need colour sorting...  Yikes *stop it Hels* !!!!!  So, time has come to show myself up and by outing myself it means that next time I post I will have nice tidy pics to show you.  Plus, I cannot possibly make anything whilst the room is in this state... and... shhhh, don't tell anyone but... I have some more telly shows!!! Next Wednesday.. times to be advised but I can tell you that... it is the Melt Pot with... something brand new!!!! Tee HEEEEEEE.  I can't wait to show you all, so on that sneaky bombshell, I shall bid you a goodly day and away to clear the decks.... thanks for looking, have a FAB day!!!  TTFN

thought your blog title meant you were going to be linking at WOYWW, not seen you there for yonks. Glad you had a good time in London with Andrea, (pics??) Your room looks fine to me (apart from that huge box, lol!!) Now, go get tidying.... shame I'll miss you at AP as I am there (as always) on Saturday and I know you are teaching.

Hooray! I've got the week off work next week so I'll be able to watch your Melt Pot dems. As for your room- if our craft spaces are as bad or worse than yours, then we're in no place to judge. And if ours are tidier than yours, then you've made us feel good about ourselves. It's a public service you're doing there. xxx Keren

No matter what mess you have we don't mind as you always create and inspire. In any case, your place looks kinda like mine does most of the time...

Wish I had that much stuff to get untidy!! I'm sure you will get it all sorted post haste so that you can get all creative again. Real little tease aren't you about your show next week, can't wait to see what ne3w goodies you're bringing us. Pat x

Oh Hels, your messy room is nowhere near as bad as mine - i can't see my desks, floor or sofa and the useless cupboard has so much piled outside of it i can't open it's doors! Today is my day to get it straight.....although half hour in and can't see I've made a difference yet! Gonna be a long day...... Good luck with yours, I'm not brave enough to post pics. Now, back to it! x

Morning Hels,

Never heard of a tidy crafter when on a mission of multi shows.
Wow! More to look forward to next week.

Was hoping to see you at AP. did not know at the time arrangements were made that you are not there on Saturday. Boo hoo! X

Not as bad as mine, Hels, and I don't even have the excuse of being as busy as you. Loved your recent shows.

In my book (indeed, in my craft room) I follow the cheffy type adage (you know, 'never trust a skinny chef'..?) never trust a tidy crafter!!! It's the sign of a sick mind in my humble opinion!! Having said that, the sense of acheievement when you can see a work top is just amazing!! I had a bit of a tidy up yesterday, whilst waiting for paint to dry... Enjoy! Ruth

Okay...Came for a short look here after have been making up a bed, give the rooms upstairs some fresh air, doing one wash in the machine and hang it to dry, cleaning the bathroom and two wc´s, making myzelf some tea to sit and call 3 persons for financial administration reasons and try to put the last cards in ring binders so I could try to get inky fingers this afternoon with the things I pulled out and are laying on my worktable... and then I see the pics of your room... Okay I now I already did a lot today, but it is raining today and I´ve been ill this weekend (so at home statt going to the biggest Stampshow here in the Netherlands...), so my fingers want to play with ink... And that before the daughter is coming home from school, ´cause I promised to go shopping with here for a big party on Friday... Now I see myself as a lucky person, cause my room is so small that I have to arrange all of my stuff directly after I finished my work, otherwise I can´t move around in the room...
Wish you good luck with tiddying your room and much joy afterwords!!! Hugs, Gerrina

Wow, what fun I could have let loose in there, oh don't you know? I love tidying up!! But I think I would play more than tidy :-)
I call it "regrouping" sounds less daunting then. You have been so busy you deserve a break. good luck with your regrouping today x

What mess!!! If that's a mess then my craft room has been bombed without me knowing! It's working progress, you work to produce beautiful things then progress to new ideas. What's the problem? The spiders are happy, the clocks will be correct twice a day, there you go. You little tease, defiantly looking forward to Wednesday now. Put your feet up, you deserve it!!! Debbie R xx

You would think they would have an anonymous meeting for people with messy craft rooms huh? Mine is a big mess too and I bet we aren't the only ones haha!

I can't find your email address, so hope you read this... I bought the melt pot from C&C and it's got a few little scratches in the pan, will that matter??? I haven't completely taken it out of the packet yet.

I'm not commenting LOL... for I wendy Aspinall need to clean up, clean out my studio .... best of luck with the cleaning and if we don't hear from you in a week We sent a search party

Your room puts mine to shame - I don't have too many lovely shelves so I have boxes piled on a bed and the floor. My actual working space shrinks with each moment I'm in there playing which is the wsorst bit. good luck with the tidying and well done for 'coming out'. Good news about the melt pot shows.

By the way, did you pick a winner yet for mother nature's son for the sunday stamper or have I missed it somehow? Thanks

Hi Hels, I see your gorgeous pieces up on the wall, they look fantastic, hopefully you can tidy just enough to get you by so you can work ha ha. I know what you mean about getting sidetracked on the internet, I am guilty of that too ha ha.
My new texture treads and UTEE colours and paints arrived today, and I got some cutters and now you're telling me you're on again next week with Melt Pot, brilliant, can't wait.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

OMG Hels I could not work at all. I'd be spending too much time looking at stuff and going that's cool and so is that! And of course then there is always the rash choice to chuck a lot out and of course it will be exactly what you NEED next week.
On a totally different tack and knowing your love of birds I though you might like to see our newest residents.

Well I think most of us agree, our spaces (I don't have a craft room, I have a craft flat) are the same if not worse than yours. We don't have same excuses either. I will also remind you, swell as being super uber busy, you have had a bad back???? Umm?? No lifting boxes or tidying when you have that!!! That's you told!!
Please tell me melt pot will be on flexi-pay, I'll join club if you do... (that doesn't make any difference to you does it? What else can I promise ?)
Grateful you showed your room, my space is SO much worse!! Wondering if that's why I have totally lost mojo :(( so frustrating to have ideas in head but no way of 'doing' them.
Squidges to Alfie cat. Good luck... :))

Hold your head high Hels, I stand here today and confess that I to have taken my craft area for granted! Once the creative spirit flows you must let it travel !!!! Lol ......

Keep up the great demos Hels life is way to short to worry about a messy craft room x
