Treasure Trove...

...Corrrr blimey and thrice!  Thank you all for your fabby comments on yesterdays tut post... if you haven't seen it yet, please do scroll down because there's some candy to grab too!    I am chuffed that you all enjoyed the tut and I do so hope you go and have a play and make something for yourselves.   Anyways... last weekend I was teaching and demo-ing at Birds in the Barn in Essex and Sunday was dedicated to playing with Treasure Gold, Masks, Embossing Paste, Crafty Individuals stamps and of course, tags!

I do love That Special Touch Masks... there are some lush designs and when I spied this one sitting on the rack, well, it just leapt onto my desk!  I used Dreamweaver Embossing Paste and scraped it over the Foxgloves stencil and set it aside to dry... it dries in about 20 - 30 mins depending on the thickness and warmth of the room. Once it had started to set, I gave it a zap with my heat tool heating from the top and underneath.  Next I took a nice plump brush and applied a few different colours of Treasure Gold wax right over the top: I used Ruby, Copper, Onyxite and Rose Quartz for the background and once these were nicely applied and blended,  I added a coat of Black Gesso with Cut & Dry and then rubbed most of it off with a babywipe, the little bits of Gesso stayed in the uppy downy bits of the embossing paste and aged it a bit.  Next, I added smidges of White Fire wax over the top to highlight the raised bits.

The decorations are a torn strip of bookpage stapled into place, coloured paper flowers (see yesterdays post about that) and a little metal flowery embellie for the middle - this is an Artemio embellie btw.  The leaves are also Artemio, little wooden ones, coloured with Distress Stain (Forest Moss) and then overstamped with a text background and Olive Archival.  The butterflies are a Crafty Individuals stamp, popped onto book page, cut out and then layered onto the tag. I had fun doing my demo day - I do love to meet like minded crafty peeps and have a nice natter and play with stashly goodies.

Right, I shall away!  I have a lovely day planned with my BFF Andrea... it is an important birthday for her this week so we are spending a few days together... we were out last night for a meal with Tina & Denize... oh dear, I am surprised the restaurant didn't kick us out!  The birthday cake was received well... and it tasted deeelish!   Have a good day yourselves... thanks for looking... TTFN!
