With An Attitude...

... did I ever tell you that my first foray into the world of all things "altered" was the humble ATC?  Many moons ago there was a forum called Topaz and I was a member.  On the forum there was a little section dedicated to peeps who wanted to make and trade ATC's.  What's an ATC?  Well, for the uninitiated, I have to decree a warning... they are highly addictive for starters!  They are little handmade works of art that are swapped - never bought or paid for - between artists and crafters.  Now, a few of my forum buddies were making ATC's and I decided I wanted a bit of that.. so I joined in.  The measurements are so easy to remember too - 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" - the size of a normal playing card.  I made my first ATC and was SO enamoured, I made another 9 to go with it.  And then I got all excited and made over 100 for forum members, so each member of the forum had their very own ATC with their forum name on.  And it still makes me smile that so many of the old forum members come to see me at demo's and in class and always say "I still have that ATC you made me"   Why am I waffling on about ATC's?  Well, it is my honour to be Guest Designer for ATC's with An Attitude this week.  To see the blog, please click HERE.

That there is a little masterboard I made last year - Joanne, who is co-ordinating the Guest Designer thing asked if she could use that as my design because it shows a different thing you can do with ATC's.  So there you have it.  I do love making ATC's and I think I shall make some today to celebrate how fab and cool they really are.   Thanks for looking... Stunning! I have never made many ATC's and certainly never get some results! Must try harder... (me, not you of course). No mention of the J/L today, hope it's flown back to the States!

Hi Hels
I do love this piece of art it is so much more than an ATC. I have not made ATC's yet but Barbara Grey is trying to get people making them and I have ordered a kit from her so I can give it a go. Watch this space!

Hi Hels, This is delish - each little one is perfect in it's own right!! I used to trade a lot but it has died off a bit - think it might be the exorbitant UK postage. But strangely made two ATCs myself yesterday and I keep hearing about them - maybe they are making a comeback!! Cindy

I haven't made an ATC for ages Hels - ooooh now I'm thinking that I neeeed to have another go. I have loads in a folder that I made for swapping then never got a "roundtuit". They can be as simple or as complicated as you like - and this is why I think they are great. Love these pinkly ones - scruptious.

I do hope ATCs make a comeback (did they ever go away?) as, although fairly new to them, I love making them. Hope the jet lag is improving. Hugs, Anne x

I love revisiting ATC's, those little instant pleasers! And then you trade them, that is the best bit. I love getting them in the post, and all the little extra bits n pieces that us crafter's always send you. I'm felling an ATC moment too. Michelle x

PS It was snowing all afternoon, evening and night yesterday here, but it seems to have gone warmer, so hopefully might thaw a bit, fingers crossed xx
