New Year Wishes...

...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!   I hope that 2013 is a very kind and giving year and all your wishes do come true.  I don't normally go in for the old resolutions - like giving up the fags and losing weight - I like to set realistic goals *hahahaaa... * so this year, I have decided that the only goal I will have is to try and stay positive.  It is all too easy to mope about (I am Queen of the Mopers) when things don't go right or if my pain gets too much.  Instead of thinking "oh that has gone wrong.... " I am going to be thinking "Well, that didn't turn out how I wanted but I will do something about it"  And the first thing that will be sorted is my poor old Room of Stash.  It has got into the worst state ever... mainly because a) I have so much stuff in here and no order b) I have so much stuff in here and I am a lazy moo and c) I have so much stuff in here and my slatternly behaviour of late has made it completely out of control.   I mean, this is how bad I am getting, instead of saying "oh I shall tidy the Room of Stash and make it nice and ordered" I am saying "Oh look, that book there on the shelf needs reading" or "Oh look, there's something I can make without disturbing the pile of stuff I have chucked onto the floor"     I know, not only am I Queen of the Mopers, I am also Queen of the Prevaricators!  No more, oh no, I am going to do something about it  *perhaps after I have de-fuzzed the tumble-dryer.... *

Anyways... today I have had a little play in the Room of Stash (instead of tidying it) and have made this little hanging.  I wanted to make something to blog and I also wanted it to be quick so I can make a start on the tidying *believe that, you will believe 'owt*  And actually, I have a Skypey sesh lined up with Ellen this afternoon so I needs to get blogged and ready for our chatterings.  The base is a papier mache thingy from Paper Artsy, edged with Espresso Dabber and then some of that gorgeous Bazzill Basics paper popped over the top.  All edged with Vintage Photo (cos you know, brown is my comfort zone)  The flower is a grouping of Prima's and I jazzed up a Melissa Frances embellie to make the wordy thing - which was stamped with Alpha's and it it the word of 2013 for me... Wish will be my buzz word, I shall make a lot of them and attempt to make a few come true too.  (just pop a  wand in my hand and call my Fairy Godmother... which is better than Fairy Elephant which is what I am normally called rofl)

So.  Last night was a right result!  Remember I said that "boohoo" I was going to be alone at midnight because Grim had to be up early?  Well, it just so happens that because of a derailed freight train last week, part of the line he drives is closed overnight.  Which meant that there weren't any trains until 9am... which meant... he went to work later and he could stay up til midnight! Hurrah!  I celebrated with a Bailey's... poor old Grim couldn't though as he was driving this morning, so I had to have another one for him lol *hic*    Anyways, I should away really because I needs to get this Room of Stash relatively normal before Ellen sees it on Skype, she would pass out if she saw how bad it is really... and her studio is always so neat so I need to make the effort lol   Thanks for looking... have a fab day!  TTFN

Hels x

Hi Hels, Happy New Year to yourself and Grim. So glad you weren't alone last night, poor G not being able to have a Baileys, never mind you had his, so that's OK.
Hope you managed to clear an area for when speaking to Ellen. I was in mine yesterday trying to tidy, but it is hard when everything is everywhere, I do have lots of organisation but there is more that is not organised ha ha. I managed to tidy away all the christmas things that were strewn about all over the place. Not helped by a pair of ladders propped up in front of one desk, which have been there since my G got all the christmas deccies out of the loft, now they are still there waiting for me to pack away all the said deccies ready for G to put back into the loft, so that'll be another few days then ha ha.
Your hanging is absolutely beautiful, as always, I love it.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
PS Can't wait to see what's new at CHA, especially Tim's stall, sneaky peaks please ha ha xx

Gorgeous...Loved the walkthrough. Good thing you helped out hubby but having his Baileys! You are too kind.

Sounds like your DH is an engineer.
I'm from a family of railroad people. My granfather was a railroad contractor. He and his crews built railroads all over Canada and the States. My uncles were all engineers or conductors.
Cousins were all dispatchers or chief dispatchers and operators (myself included at one time)!
Funny how the railroad lifestyle becomes part of you! teehee
Happy New Year.

Happy New Year!! Oh such a shame... I mean - CHA coming up and not having any spare space in your craft room to put any of the new goodies??? Oh well. Love to be entered to win your creation - just love it as always. I have made a card with some "writing" on - here is mine: http://muddlycrafting.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/scrunchy-flowers-card.html
Have a great time.

Happy New Year to you & Grim, Hels, I'm glad you were able to see in the New Year together. And I love the little wall hanging.
I tidied my craft room before Christmas & must have tidied away my mojo at the same time, because I haven't seen it since. Here's hoping it shows up soon.
Enjoy the rest of your week.

How lovely that you and Grim got to spend time together and see in the new year after all. Love your hanging thingy, the papers are gorgeous and the butterflies are fabulous. Is there any point in tidying before you go to CHA - you will only bring more stuff back - have a clean up then...... Happy New Year! Hugs, Anne x

Ohhh, so it was two Baileys......Hope you could still see the fireworks....

Ok, so please don't say anymore about tidying craft rooms or rooms of stash or whatever, cos if you do I will start to think that if you can do it I should be able to do it too..... I have precisely 5 square inches to put my pieces down on, yikes, I don't even want to think about it....
Anyways, love your hangy thingy and hope you had a good skype.
Happy new year!!
