Don't Look Too Closely...

...or else you will see that even now, at the ripe old age of...*ahem* 40something, I still can't seem to colour within the lines!  There was much mirth and merriment in the making of this tag - it is one of my demo tags from Ally Pally and one of the lovely ladies watching its creation said that she thought it was a stamp of a robber on a get-away horse (you know who you are lol)  I could see what she meant because she was looking at it from a funny angle.   Actually, it is Papa Noel on his trusty reindeer, getting ready to whizz 'round to my place to drop off lots of goodies for me ( I have been very good this year.... well sort of lol)

The base tag is coloured with Old Paper Stain, dried, blended with Frayed Burlap and Vintage Photo and a smidge of black around the edges to frame the design.  The colouring - well, the less said about that the better.  I have lost my waterbrush... had it last week, can't find it this week.  So, instead, I used a paintbrush and spritzed water onto the craft sheet and a nice puddle of Fired Brick Stain and coloured that way... hence the going over the lines on his knee... my excuse and I is sticking to it!

My demo desk - pic here - was massive, which is just as well because I do tend to spread out when I am making stuff... all in all I had a fab day - I would love to be able to show you two more of the Xmas tags I made using Tim's new stamps and the gorgeous Stampers Anon Classic Favorites... but alas, I left my desk to go and do my sit-down demo, came back, both were missing.  So, if it was you who helped yourself to my tags, well, what can I say?  Ask me and I will make you something... please don't steal, it is an ugly thing to do and it makes me crabby because I didn't get photo's of them - not fair at all right?

Anyways. Yesterday was a grand day out.  Chuffing frreeeezing though!  I was getting ready in the morning and Grim said "tis going to be chilly today... less than 10degrees"   So, I decided that I would wear layers, all four of them.  And as I was getting ready I spied my big wooly pom pom scarf... and thought "oh I won't need that, tis still September"   WRONG!!!   We were lucky enough to get seats in the grandstand which is undercover - thank heavens.  Now.  You all know I have probs with my back.  Well, it is high up, up there in the grandstand.  Which means several flights of steep stairs.  It took me about 29 hours to climb up them... but I did it, grumbling all the way, as you (or I) do.  Once up there, I then had a fit of the vapours... blimey it is HIGH.  And I have never had issues with heights before... ever.  So, it was a "don't look down" moment, lasting more than a moment, more like several minutes.  Finally I got used to it - mainly because when I finally did look down, we were sitting right opposite Jason Plato's garage.  Just wish I had had my binoculars with me (snort)  Grim went wandering off (ok, he went off in search of bacon and coffee) When he got back he said... "there's a lift!"  Oh yes, there is indeedily a lift. Phew, I don't think I could have managed a whole day without finding the facilities lol   Anyways, I have thawed out now, it was a case of cozy corn pillow, fleecy blanket, fire on full, heating on full, nice chinese food on ...erm.. full (teehee) and telly box on X Factor - I only watch it because Grim forces me to I hasten to add.  I shall away now, I have lots of jobs on my to-do list and I only have three days this week because I am away to Preston on Thursday. Best get a wiggle on then!   Thanks for looking, have a good day!  TTFN

Morning Hels, What a wonderful tag of Father Christmas on Rudolph (well a reindeer anyway ha ha), it is stunning. I didn't see you make this one, but I did see you demo the heart project in the demo area, that was fantastic.
What a truly horrible thing for someone to do, when you were away from the desk, I hope they realise what they have done and return them. No wonder you were feeling crabby, you leave all your projects there for everyone to enjoy and that is what happens, I really hope the person gets a conscience.
It was lovely to see you Hels on Saturday, you are a lovely lady.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

Is that the tag with the Merry Christmas that looks upside down... promise it wasn't me who nicked a tag - what rotters! No wonder stall holders often drape their stands with cloth when they leave - so sad for you.

Poor Hels it sure was a cold wet day, as it is today! Not good with heights myself, I was fine when I was young, odd isn't it. Stay warm today and thanks for sharing.

Glad you had a good time. The tah is great. I would love to have been there but alas and woe I was working Saturday and teaching Sunday so missed it this year. Sorry that people stole your tags. I'll never understand that as surely everytime you look at it you know you stole it so how can you enjoy it?
So sad. Hope you have a lovely afternoon though!

I went to Ally Pally on Sat but didn't stop by as your stand was rather busy :o) However, I did get a glimpse of your beautiful creations on your desk.

What a rotten thing for someone to do. There's no excuse for stealing! Hope that doesn't put you off coming back next year Hels.

Thanks for sharing Santa & Reindeer. Tis' gorge!

I agree with Neil's comments Hels and not only would you not get pleasure from looking at something you pinched you wouldn't be able to brag that you have a piece of Hels' beautiful work either :0)!

Love your Santa and reindeer tag. It's very delicate and dainty looking with the stamps you used and the soft colours.

Glad you had a good day yesterday too but I think I'd still be thawing out. Today is a shocker isn't it? It's not stopped tipping down all day yet.

Stay cosy today.

Hugs

Lovely tag, the colouring only goes to add to the shabby chic look!

Rotten that someone stole your stuff, I know a few stall holders at NEC and the Exeter show said they had seen an increase in items going missing from shows, such a shame.

That look like a lovely big craft area you had at Ally Pally, so sorry that someone stole from you though, that must be horrible. I do love your tag though, colouring and all......Crafty hugs, Anne x

PS - hope your man won the race yesterday?

Love your retro 'robbin' santa. You could have pretended colouring outside the lines was intentional, you know - it's quite the fashion :-) Sorry to hear someone pinched your tags - how mean!

I love the floral bit in the corner - gorgeous. I have trouble staying in the lines sometimes and now I feel ok knowing that even you do it - occasionally!!
I can't believe that someone would do that - really I can't. I'm not perfect but it's common decency to keep your mitts off other peoples property. Luckily, most of us are honest and just enjoy looking at what you make.

Love your tag Hels. As I assume it is there to give our mojos a well needed shot in the arm who cares if you stray from the lines a little (it's artistic license anyway:) Sorry to hear someone was so light-fingered. Some people seem to have no conscience:( Well done for braving it at Rockingham. Some of the racing was a bit hairy in that rain and I think the Hondas had glue on their tyres. Glad to see JP got his 'revenge' in the 3rd race against a certain AS after the events of the last weekend. I had visions of you going down to his garage this time and giving him a piece of your mind!! Happy crafting hun. Buttons x

Lovely tag as ever Hels and so sorry I did not get to Ally Pally this time round - So sorry to hear about your tags going awol. I can never understand people who nick other people's possessions, especially their artwork, and I am always amazed when I hear something like this, as all the crafters I know are really lovely people but there are obviously some low life even in crafting ciircles, I hope their fingers drop off!!! - wish I could catch one in the act, I would not be responsible!!!!

Can't believe somebody swiped your tags - what a horrible thing to happen, and I'm sorry to hear it was chilly and scarily high up, but still wish I'd managed to make it along... would so love to see everyone in action! Great tag left to show here though - lovely delicate Christmas feel to it. And thanks so much for your lovely comment over at Words and Pictures - I had forgotten you and Grim were train people, honest! - not an attempt to curry favour, but I'm so glad you liked it...

Lovely vintage feel with a splash of red.
Stairs and the cold - not good for those of us who's bodies are older than our age!

This tag is fabulous with this whimsical image of Tim's...love it! Love that you turned it on it's side! I am sick that some horrid person would steal your taggies! Totally crap that is! And no, I wasn't in the UK...only in my dreams! Still, I hate a thief!
