Sticky....

...have you ever done something that has made you laugh until you snort and have little tears rolling down your face? I am always the first to admit that I am clumsy... accident prone... a little bit of a div. And the other day, I did something that got me and Ellen doing that laugh until you snort thing. So, me and Ellen are having a nice Skypey catch-up and I was mounting stamps as we were talking. Then my old steampowered moby rang and I went to pick it up... and dropped it... onto a piece of U-Mount that I had just taken the covering off. Mmmm, dropping stuff is a normal daily occurance for me... but dropping stuff onto something uber sticky? This was the result. Pics taken after we had calmed down btw.

The phone, thankfully, is still operational, which considering what has happened to it in the last week is nothing short of a miracle. I slopped a can of Diet Coke over it at the weekend (it still worked) I dropped it down the stairs on Monday (it still worked) and then I stuck it to some U-Mount, and yep, it still works. It is conspiring against me because I want one of those fandangly whizzy phones that everyone has... but flat refuse to replace said phone until it stops working (I am all for having new gadgets but cannot justify buying a new one til the old one has expired) I think I am destined to have this old crotchety phone forever.

Anyways... a little bit of craftyness on this post too... a card sample for Sunday. This one is all Distressy and has a combo of Spellbinders and 490 background stamps... with a lovely Creative Expressions sentiment... I love those Sprockets btw, they are appearing on everything! The colours are Rusty Hinge and Tea Dye (they go together so well) and if you look closely you will see a fair few goodies that are on the shows on this card.

I took time out of my crafty prepping to watch the 200m final last night. WOW. That "what'shisname" Usain Bolt... he was a dream to watch, like a Cheetah, unfurling his power and bounding off down the track. We had watched his 100m final the other night and I heard some random facts about it... did you know, he took 41 steps during the 100m? And his feet were on the ground for about 2 seconds... meaning he spent about 7.5 seconds in the air! Anyways... enough about the Olympics... hasn't it been glorious weather eh? It is always like this when I have shows and am prepping like mad in the hottest Room of Stash in the World. My old tower fan gave up the ghost last week - poor old thing has done me proud though, so I have nicked the one from Grim's room and it isn't as powerful... I resorted to crafting in my nighty earlier, tis the coolest garment I own lol I shall leave you with that delightful imagery and say, as ever... have a fab day, thanks for looking... TTFN!

That's a riot!!! I have a friend who says it's not a party 'til I've started snorting!

BTW...I do almost all of my art in my pjs or nighty. Why mess up my clothes?!?!?! And I find aprons just too combersome. It's not like anyone will see me. Just the hubby...but he's generally in his jammies, too!

Morning Hels, I know what you mean about being clumsy, I am the same, I went to a little decoupage class in my town yesterday and I was dropping everything, it's so embarrassing when others see you. You are ok though because your BFF is on your 'wavelength' and actually saw it happen, and you both had a good belly laugh out of it, it does you good. Lovely card Hels, I adore the sentiment, I will have to get the stamp. Looking forward to seeing you on C&C. By the way, what is 'btw' ?? I have only just learned what 'lol' is, I thought it was lots of love at first ha ha !!!! Lots of love from Patricia xx

Morning Hels,
Brilliant card, love the sprockets.
Must be something in the air, I was mounting some stamps when the mounting had a mind of it's own, It jumped on my arm honest, now got a waxed arm!
Love your antics lol. X

So loved seeing these pictures!! It could have been worse, you could have dropped it into the toilet like a friend of mine did AND found it still worked!!! You can get a FREE phone and a whizzy one if you shop around you know - that's how I got my iphone and it's SOOOOO much fun! The camera on it would be great for your work, you could make a to do list, you could catch up with work emails and loads of other things, wherever you are and whenever you want - have I sold you on the idea? And no, I don't sell mobile phones!!
Have a good weekend.
Julia (still laughing)xx

You could always try using the phone as a stamp lol, bet it would make cool backgrounds. Saying that, those new ones aren't all that they are made out to be. I caved in last Christmas and got one, am still trying to figure out parts of it.

Loving the card and good luck with the shows!!

Good Morning Hels
He He im that clumsy too, but never stuck anything to umount, and i can tell you new fangled fancy phones wouldn't survive all that, there made to be broken i think!!
Anyway i love this card and the colours you've used, great idea with the embellishments.

Hi Hels - love this card and can't wait for the shows - hope you get a presenter who doesn't waffle on too much so that we see the demos as well!!

I know what you mean about the laughing until you snort - I am just thankful for those Tenalady thingies.

Hugs Sue P xxx

PS Don't blame you for crafting in your nightie. Whatever you feel comfortable in is my motto!!!

Love the card, and the photo's of your poor phone. My last mobile looked like a brick - I kept it till it worked no more. My most recent one looks like a thinner brick... still works tho!

OMG, if you'd tried to stick your phone to the U-mount it wouldn't have worked...Cards are fabby as usual and as an ardent steampunk fan I am of the opinion that anything looks better with some gears on it!

Fab card Hels (as ever). Think your phone now needs a trip on Top Gear!! They try wrecking things too I hear! LOL Can't wait to see what you do to it next :)) Hugs, Buttons x

Oh someone as daft as me, at least you didn't drop Alfiecat on the U mount! Great card.

Okay after hearing all the abuse your phone has taken...and it looks like the Umount is on the back...maybe you should just leave it there as a layer of protection! LOL!

Evening Hels, perhaps you should try shimmer misting your phone next, see if that works :D :Love the card, it's fabulous! Carole Z X

OMG Hels - you really do know how to make a girlie snigger lol! Me and my wonderfully grumpy DH have been in that situation before and we've had friends say 'you two are nuts' which has made us cry with tears and snort even more - and i usually end up with hiccups afterwards too - which makes DH snort and laugh a little more.
What a fab description - just like a beautiful Cheetah unfurling he was! I could do with some more craftyness though as I'm sure I've OD'd on Olympicness! Gorgeous make - love that colour scheme hugs Karen x

Absolutely gorgeous card Hels. Just a suggestion but why don't you alter your phone as its clearly trying to do this itself without success. You will then have a phone to be envied x
