It's A Giveaway!!!

...aha, yes, as promised on yesterday's super speedy post, today I am going to be giving away one of my demo cards from last weeks Spellbinders shows. This one was a hastily designed card because I had some extra die sets popped onto the show last minute... and I was chuffed to bits to be able to play with the Wings of Hope (stunning flutterby's) and the Aster set...(LOVE those layered flowers!) To enter into the draw to win this card is simples: just leave me a comment on this post & click to follow my blog if you don't already... oh and you could let me know what your fave Spellbinders are too... I love to know what everyone likes :O) I will get Mr Random.org to pick a winner to be announced next Wednesday, August 8th 2012.

The card was made using afore mentioned die sets, plus Labels 26 and Back To Basics Tags... and the background was made using the Venetian MBossabilities folder. To start with I cut a card blank to measure 14.5cm x 19.5cm - I just eyeball how big I think I will be needing the base to be so the measurements are always approximations. There's some black card for a "frame" mat and the main piece of card fits perfectly into the MBossabilities folder. I used Shaded Lilac from the Spring Ltd Edition Distress Inks set. By rubbing this over one side of the MBoss folder, then carefully embossing it with the raspberry plate thru the Caliber, the ink gets squished into the debossed bits of the folder. I love this technique and it holds so many possibilites because you can use all kinds of colours mixed together too. I zapped the ink with a heat tool so I didn't smudge it and then blended the edges with Dusty Concord to give the whole piece a more finished look.

The Asters are cut and embossed - the milk colour cardstock ones were left in the dies until I had blended more Shaded Lilac through to add colour to the inside of the petals. I did the same with the butterfly - using Dusty Concord this time, I just adore how perfect the inking it... and yet it still lends itself to my inky nature. The sentiment is from the Studio 490 Sentimental Art set... another fave set of mine. And check out the ickle thingy in the middle of the flower... that is an Embellish Your Art floral button - another bit of gorgeousness from Wendy Vecchi's fair creative hand.

Well, that's all from me for today... I will be back tomorrow with an altered canvas that I made when Caz came to play on Monday - check out her blog HERE to see her gorgeous creation. Oooh and... I now know all the products that I have on my Spellbinders show on Sunday 12th... teeeheee, I am a tease.... all I will say is that there are lots of gorgeous goodies!!! Anyways, I shall away to tackle that to do list - now with 287 things on it... *I did get a few things done yesterday lol* As ever, thanks for looking... TTFN!

Morning Hels, Beautiful card and I would love to win this card. It is my favourite colours, I love anything with a lilac/purpley colourway. My favourite dies at the moment have been the Grand Ovals and Grand Circles, I have been using them on all my A4 cards. I got the POTW but haven't had much chance to play with them yet, but I love the Asian and Venetian dies, they are beautiful. Here's hoping my luck will be with me, if not, congratulations to the winner. Lots of love from Patricia xx

This is another beautiful card Hels. I've tried and tried to get ch671 whilst away, but it just won't load - bad area here for my phone too - so I've missed all your shows. However, I hope to catch the next when we move again. I have a few Spellbinder frames which I love and a flower that is just a long roll of paper die. Can't wait to see the new ones though. Cath up when I get better signals.
Hugs Joanne xx

I love the softness and sublety of the card - in fact I really enjoy all your demos/articles. Inspired by you I bought my first Wendy Vecchi stamps!

Impossible for me to choose which Spellbinders I like best. I think Asian accents and motifs may overtake Damask accents and Jewel Fantasies, but Create a Flake 4 or ..........
