... Cor blimey and thrice! I love that new hot air balloon stamp from the latest releases by the Duke of Distress and I have to say... as soon as I saw it, I knew it had to come and live in the Room of Stash... and... that it would have to have some Ten Seconds Studio treatment too. Which is exactly what I did... stamping it onto Gold Nugget metal and then using a refining tool and a thingy-wheel to deboss it... and then slapping a nice layer of Black Dabber onto it to age it all up. To make the balloony bit pop, I flipped it over and used a paper stump to stretch the metal out and make it puffy. I spotted Candy Colwell had stamped the balloon for one of her projects and had added a little banner of pennants around it... and I loooved what she had done... and then when I stamped my balloon, I spotted that there are indeed pennants on it... so I cut some out of the scraps of TSS metal and bobbed those onto the balloon too... so a big big thank you to Candy for her inspiration and pointing out the pennants to me :O))
So... now I had fulfilled the urge to get metally, I needed to get inky... which is exactly what I did (whooops, repetition!) I quickly ran the Old Paper Distress Stain over the surface of the tag and spritzed with water and dried it... I then used Tumbled Glass, Broken China and a smidge of Pine Needles Distress Stains, smooshed onto my craft sheet and then spritzed with water and then dipped and twisted the tag into the mix... dried it... re-dipped to pick up any little droplets and then dried again. I loved the background soooo much I took a piccie of it before I went and covered it all over with the stamping and embellies... here it is:
The finishing touches were some Idea-ology and I dyed some vintage ribbon with Tumbled Glass and a smidge of Pine Needles Stains and then scrunched it up before drying and tying into a double bow.
Oooh and I just noticed it is Friday 13th today...are you supersticious? I am a bit but not with the date... well, 13 is my lucky number (it has to be, being born on the 13th lol) so if I have a birthday on Friday 13th I have to make sure it is a good 'un! Right, enough wafflings... I must away, I have a special project that is awaiting the finishing touches. As ever... Thanks for looking... TTFN!
