Spinning With Stan...

...this Stan character seems to be appearing more and more here doesn't he? He is one of my new "fave" Studio 490 stamps (I know, ALL of them are but... ) even though he has been sitting nice and quitely underneath my desk for the past few years, it is only just recently that I have actually properly noticed him (bad Hels) This is my last Spool Art Part piece from the show the other week... this one was covered with Crowded Attic papers (loooove doing this... ) The parts came from the Art Part Sample Pack, check out that cooooooool flower... love the size of this one and it also has matching smaller ones in the Floral Pack... Wendy really does think of everything doesn't she? The decorations are 490 flowers stamped onto Grungepaper and coloured with Distress Inks along with a couple of 490 butterflies... again on Grunge and this time coloured so they look more "mothy"... I popped them onto snippets of Clearly For Art so they look like they are just a-fluttering - actually, Stan Spidey is also on a snip of Clearly For Art too.

The Leaves Art Part that I used is big, so I cut it in half... whilst the Art Parts are thick and sturdy (you can see that from the angle of the pics) they are snippable with Tim's sharpest of sharp Tonic scissors (an essential for me btw) There are some dangly bits handing around the flower... I used the Screw Punch to do this but you can use a Crop-a-Dile instead... the bits and bobs are Idea-ology and some pearly Baubles. I am entering this piece into the Snazzy's special challenge that is all things Wendy Vecchi... if you haven't spotted this challenge, CLICK HERE... how fab, a whole challenge just for my crafty heroine... I might just enter again with something else.. if I get time that is... oh and... there's a prize too... gotta love prizes ;o))

Which leads me nicely onto the latest mishap Chez Sheridan. Well, I make no bones about being a techno-phobe, indeedily, I am a bit of a goof when it comes to anything mechanical or electrical (except for engines... I am good with engines.. you know, like big old Intercity 125 engines... I know my way around one of those no probs... ) I digress anyway... as usual. SO, my lovely pal Ellen made us some Cozy Corn Pillows... they are a cloth bag filled with corn, all you need to do is microwave them for a few mins and you get instant heat - they have kept me going this past few weeks when it has been fair nesh outside... well, last night my poor little paws were freezing, so I bobbed the Corn Pillow into the microwave, set it going... and it made this noise
"lishdfiyherljLKHLIHsl lifi...BANGPOPBANGCRACKLE"
so I opened the door, like you do... and the pillow was clap cold... mmmmphff... the microwave est mort! Talk about foot stamping and huffing... it is not pretty or grown up but sometimes the only thing that will help is a good old huff and a stamp of the tooties!

So... today we are off to get a new one. Thing is... why don't things last like they used to huh? I remember when I was 11 my parents bought one of those new fangled jobbies... a microwave. And do you know what? I was given it when I moved out of home to take with me... and I looked after it until its demise in 2001... some 20 years later! Since then we have had four other microwaves and all of them have conked out. I thought it could be me.. knowing what a culinary goddess I am (ahem, quite) But no, I actually think it is this "throwaway society" that we have created.... Anyways.. on that bombshell, I shall remove myself from my soapbox and go and get ready to get a new microwave... I may be some time because the instructions are probably Swahili translated into Arabic translated into Serbian... Thanks for looking... don't forget to check out the challenge ;o)) TTFN

Oh, another fabulous Studio 490 piece of art! I seriously need some more of Wendy's butterfly stamps (I have one design in 2 sizes so far) 'cos these ones are lovely. Love the dangly bits and the colours too.

Thanks for entering into our Snazzy DT blog comp Hels and for telling everyone about it. The Bosses are being very generous with the goodies bless 'em!

Love your creation, it is gorgeous! Hoe you get your microwave sorted - I think it MAY be you as I am on my first one - had it many many years - though it does sound a bit odd now and again....

Oh this is stunning Hels and Stan(!) looks right at home living there! I do hope you are going to take your old microwave to bits so use the insidy bits for art! If you do we need a photo as I have no idea what is inside it and just imagine how satisfying it would be to hit it with a sled hammer! That would teach it to stop working!
