... in photographic skills... to the point that I am severely reprimanding myself and I am, at the moment, sitting in the corner with a big hat with a D on it. Why? Because... I keep doing this... making something, doing a fast photo-thingy and then bunging it in the post... so by the time I get around to checking the photo's it is too late to re-do them. Never mind.. ignore the blurred bits and you might get the idea about this card... here goes:
Tis Grim's BFF's birthday today so I made a card... the colours are based around what I thought were their footy teams colours... but actually it is wrong... apparently Luton Town are now orange and blue... not orange and black as I thought (yes, I know, I should have realised and understood that this is a reaaaaally important thing but... erm... I didn't) Anyways... I set about inking a piece of cream cardstock by smooshing Picket Fence, Spiced Marmalade and a smidge of Black Soot Distress Stain onto my craft sheet. I then spritzed the cardstock with water and dipped, twisted, dunked, lifted and dried said card. Then I re-dipped to add splotches and dried again.
You can see Brolly Man... well, he has been resisted! Using Claudine's FAB Matte Medium as the resisty thingybobs and a script stamp... then using Black Soot DI to blend all over him... check out the brolly at a jaunty angle... well, I over did the blending bit and bent it... never mind, it can be a bit windy. The circles and sunrays are stamped in Monarch Orange and then Jet Black Archival over the top, slightly offset a teensy bit so they pop. And the birds and stars are stamped in Jet Black too. I stamped the sentiment... tis probably one of my most used wordy stamps and then chopped it up and layered it... so the life bit of it is more raised than the rest. The final touches were Idea-ology Washers and Brads...
Right, I had better dash, it is stoooopid o'clock again and I have to get a few hours sleep before I go and sit on the doormat... well, I need to be there ready for when Postie turns up with his van load of Valentine's rofl Yes, quite! I have been a very bad Hels this year and... *whispers* bought a card for Grim... I know, it is shocking but... I do have a very goodly excuse... I am rubbish at making nice cards for him... I never can make a decent card for Grim... dunno why but... bought is best! Right... am offski... hope you all have a lurve filled day! TTFN

You are A-MAZING Hels...not only is your art inventive, quirky, beautiful, FUN, you are a FABULOUS writer. I swear, I just like to read your posts. They give such a sense of place and person....count me as a BIG fan!
All brolly men should be resisted Hels!
Seriously though what a great card for your man and orange and black is the way to go.
Love your smooshing and your swooshing!
Fabulous tag Hels! I love smooshing distress stains :)
Well, even if the colours aren't authentic, I love the card - and I can't resist Brolly Man either... lol!
Have a great day - hope your vanload of Valentines arrive safely....
Great card!
Love the colours - really clever of you! I've avoided brolly man but he looks really good here! Find making cards for men very difficult but this has given me new inspiration. Thank you. Julia
