I Wonder If...

... is something that I say quite often... especially when I have a free evening and fancy a little play... which is what happened last night. I was sitting at my desk, faffing about, like you do (well, like I do... ) and I thought to myself... I wonder if I put Picket Fence and Aged Mahogany Stains onto my craft sheet and then spritzed some Perfect Pearl Mists over the top... would it work? Well, there's only one way to find out...

So, I did it.. and oh my, it looks gorgeous... the pics, sadly as usual, do not show up the shimmer at all... nor do they really show up that even though I used Archival Ink to stamp my images, they look like they have sunken into the background... think it is the Picket Fence that does that to them... Well, whatever, I think it is ... pretty. And I have been extraordinarily good this week... making cards etc and not even touching the Aged Mahogany. Tis true... I am an addict!

Anyways... over on the Wonderful Wendy Vecchi's blog a few weeks ago, I spied a video she had done at CHA... and it showed a FAB technique...where you stamp using Perfect Pearl Mists... ohhhlalalaaaaa and thrice, I tried it... on the butterfly... and cor blimey, it looks gorgeous... but again... my photography skills are more than lacking... but if I tell you about it you might be able to pick out the shimmer. Basically, you stamp your image in black... and then spritz PP Mists onto a craft sheet, dip the rubber into this, stamp back over the image and you will see that the Mists only stamp where the rubber does... so... you get a shimmeryness (oooh, new word???) just where the stamping is... and on a butterfly it looks rather delish.

Oh and before I forget... which I am likely to do, knowing my rubbish memory... tis my day for the Bubbly Funk DT and the card I have made is HERE if you would like a nosey... here's a sneaky peek at it :O))

Right... that's me for today... please do check back tomorrow because I will have a little Tut on how to do the T'Pouch - after so many requests it would have been rude not to... in the meantime... have a goodly day, thanks for looking... and... TTFN!

Gorgeous tag, love the colour & the butterfly. I keep telling myself I don't need the Distress Stains, but I'm weakening fast.

Beautiful tag(as ever)! Who'd have thought it would make such a gorgeous colour? I can see that sewing machine is earning it's keep lol!

So beautiful Hels!
Okay...Are you saying you mixed the Picket fence, mahogany and perfect pearls mix and then you inked the tag?
Stamped the tag??
and then you used archival on top of all that?
It's hard to tell by the pic...it almost looks like you stamped in the mahogany mix and then again in the archival (the archival stamping was after all the inking?)
Whatever way you did it- it looks fabulous!! TFS!
