... well, it all came from America... and it all went back again. Nope, I haven't quite lost the plot, although I am really trying hard to lol Today's waffle is all about Ellen's birthday card. Oh yes, my lovely BFF celebrated her 21st birthday yesterday and of course, I wanted to make a something special card for her.
Now, as many of you lovely folks will have noticed, I seem to have a particularly bad aversion to making cards... and, I know I keep banging on about resolutions and halo polishing but the real truth is... I just don't "do" cards that well. However, I endeavoured... and this here card is the one that made the final cut... needless to say, there were several others started and then binned... is it just me... or... when you know you have a special something to make... the old Mojo walks out on you? Mmmm, methinks that these here Mojo's that own us are all a little bit flakey...
However, I persevered... and I used a whole load of Distress Stains and stamps and die cuts and finally the card was complete... oh and it is a biiiig card too... like 7" square or somethink ridiculous... d'ya see that scripty background in the erm... background? Well, that was stamped with the new Aqua Archival ink... ooooh, I am lurving those new Archivals (ahem, I know, I seem to be repeating myself but... credit where it is due... they are lush lush lush!)
Oh... and look at that ickle puffed heart! These are the cutest little charms... I got them from Scrapz... not sure if there are any left though but it is worth a hop across to see... and... it opens up! So, I, being an incredibly giving kind of person, popped a rare pink diamond into the puffed heart... but alas and alack... it became invisible to the naked eye... but it is in there.. somewhere lol
Anyways... we had a lovely Skype sesh... Ellen, bless her, had been uber good and not so much as squeezed her pressies... and it was grand to see her open them too... ah the miracles of the modern world!
Right... I think that that is enough drivel from me for one post... I have still got that "issue" with the ... (there's no easy way to describe it... ) buttock. I have taken to dragging my left leg sideways so I can get about... in all seriousness (just for a moment otherwise it would be ever so tedious and boring) sciatica is like "the" pain from the Devil himself. I spent several hours feeling very sorry for myself yesterday, if there is one thing that my Mojo does not appreciate it is a pain in the arse. So, I like I said... getting about, merely walking normally, is indeed impossible. So, this new adopted gait gives me an ability to move about but Lordy above, I do indeedily look like something from the Quatermass experiment... gone-wrong. With that vision imprinted on your mind, I shall say... thanks for looking... TTFN!

Ohhh... so sorry your pain has gotten worse...eeeeekkk. I LOVE all my pressies - thank you SOOO much! Glad you blogged the card - I just blogged everything from the weekend, and forgot the most important part! the CARD! It is delicious! Hope you have a good day hon. Talk soon.... big hugs... Els xxx
This is a great card Hels and happy birthday Ellen! Fab colours and I loved the little heart! Just getting a bit concerned about your 'behind' now - especially as you are now quoting the Quatermass Experiment which you are too young to know about (even I'm too young to have seen it!) - did the fall make you go back in time?!
I used to suffer from sciatica, you poor thing it is v painfull.I went to a chiropractor and hardly ever have a problem now unless I lift something badly. Then my body ends up twisted so that my hips are walking forwards, but my torso is facing left. V. Confusing! I expect you've already tried everything, but if not, try a good chiropractor, mine always helps.
If anyone made me that card for my birthday i would be reduced to a pile of mushy tears[in a good way].
How truly lovely! And I hope you can see a massage therapist and chiropractor to help you with your pain management.

Hun in my favorite color, what can I say ???
Yes I love it. Wonderful details and brilliant work. I love it, love it, love it.
That image is imprinted on my mind hun and quite funny, even though the sciatica is defo not fun! :-(
Stunning card, gorgeous colours ;-)

Fantastic card! I'm so sorry you're in pain though... nothing amusing about that one bit. I hope somehow you can walk it off.

Aww that pain in the a**e is no good hun, no more housework from now on (Grim you need to get Hel's a cleaner) ... let me know if that request was granted pmsl! Ooo Ellen what a lovely card to receive, glad Ellen managed to refrain from opening the pressies until you cyber talked! Take care hun xxx
What a fabulous card - you are wrong, you do cards very well indeed, I should know I am lucky enough to have some...
Hope your pain in the butt gets better soon!!
Beautiful Card Hels. FYI here in the craftcupboard household, we've agreed to giving each other tags for occassions or little meander books. We think they are more awesome....sweet, huh? But indeed Mojo goes on walk when I really need her.
Oh Hels poor you. I have a teeny trapped nerve problem and I'm not living with it well, so I feel pathetic compared to how you put up with so much.
Ellen will love her card...I do! Happy Birthday to Ellen, my so accomplished for such a young woman!
What a gorgeous card! Love the colours you've used.
Hope you're feeling better soon. xx
I can tell Ellen loved her card and no wonder. You fib when you say you can't do cards. This one's a beaut! I also popped over to Ellen's blog (she's in my sidebar now) and didn't she have some gorgeous pressies (including those from you).
Hugs
Lesley Xx
Sorry to hear you're still in so much pain, Hels. Doesn't stop you smiling though, does it! I love the colours you've chosen for your card - unusual combination - and all the add-ons!
