Goodly Morning Stampers and a very happy Sunday to you all! Thank you all for the lovely entries last week... and again to so many new peeps joining in... which of course, makes me very happy! This weeks theme is one of *those* themes... you can interpret it however you want to... so I had better tell you what it is lol The new theme is... FLYING. So, you could have an aircraft like I have or you could have a birdy, butterfly, buzzy-bee... anything infact, so long as it flies! To join in with the challenge is simples (as the Meerkats would say)... simply make a little something, it can be anything you fancy, include some stamping and the theme... then pop back here and leave me a comment and/or a linky to the place you are showing you entry and then I can hop on over to see you. The challenge will remain open until 21:00 Saturday 16th July 2011.
So... my tag today has been made specifically for my Tag Binder Book (which is HERE if you missed the post) so I started off by cutting a tag from plain card and then from the map page of the Crowded Attic stack... sticking them together to make the paper sturdier. I then cut two little circle tabs using the Tags and Tabs Alterations die. These little fella's make the hangy bits so the tag will fit into the binder book.
I used a Cut & Dry to apply a smidge of Trad Tan to the tag base *I s'pose I had better admit that I have a piece of C&D foam purely for Trad Tan applications, I never wash it out, it just gets a quick spritz of water and then gets stored in a zippy-bag... now, is that madness or what lol* Anyways... I then used Peeled Paint, Faded Jeans and Broken China Distress Stains to colour the map, land and sea like.
I used a really old Tim stamp - the words are among the first stamps I bought and this Journey word is well used and lurved but has been neglected recently so I thought it high time to give it an inking! The ticket was stamped onto card that I had scribbled with Antique Linen Stains... I used Coffee Archival for the main colouring of the stamp, then used the corner of Jet Black to colour the writing bits and then... I cracked open my brand new Vermillion Archival... ooooh, ahhh, LURVE this colour... tis red (obviously) and a very lush red at that! Well, the Vermillion was used to colour the date stamped bits... and I also added my very own aged date stamp onto it too. I tore the edge off the ticket and use the off cut bit for the sentiment in the Ornate Frame... I thought that the red bits on the ticket added a bit of extra interest to the wording in the frame.
Anyways... enough waffling from me... hope you like the theme... and have fun playing... and thanks for looking!! TTFN
Hels x
PS... do check back tomorrow for a rather hilarious photo that I will be posting... well, it made me laugh anyway... it appealed to my juvenile brain lol
