Psssssst.....

...so... did ya miss me? Did ya? What? You didn't? Mwhahaha... well, I have been AWOL! Actually, I was uber organised and scheduled some blog posts for while I was away... and I have to admit... I missed you all... because I went to a faraway place that has no internet, computery things or owt like that... here's where I have been...

So... I spent a rather splendid and very relaxing week in ever so wet and windy Norfolk, messy about on a boat... and... I didn't fall in this time either! Well, actually, I didn't fall in last time either but... I did trip off the boat and land on all fours on the mooring jobby, shoe falling off in the process and floating off down the river...even the ducks laughed... So, this time... no escapades in the cut... however, it was awful weather! Hurricane force winds, tides like no other tide ever... and me at the helm trying to park a socking great boat while poor old Captain Grim and Admiral Dad were doing things with ropes on the bank. I managed though, and even though I do say so myself, I made a darn fine Galley Slave...

**Apologies about the pics... scouted from t'internet because... I forgot to take any photo's and am waiting for Captain Grim to get me some of his :O)) More soon!**

Yes, indeedily, the jolly japesters went off in search of provisions and brought me a fetching hat back... actually, I rather like it... and it covered the nightmare that my hair became, what with lack of hairdryer, tornado force gales etc. I did have one or two ...erm.... mishaps though... Like trapping my index finger in a door when the wind caught it (the door, not the finger) and I have to say, I thought it was broken... it swelled up like a Tom & Jerry cartoon character... and then went back to normal... so now I have nothing to show for my pain... not even a smidge of a bruise! Oh and then I lacerated the top of the next finger along trying to open a box of Brillo Pads... I had...er...ahhhh, uuumm....burnt the breakfast - my duties as Galley Slave soon came swiftly to an end I can assure you lol Anyways... THANK YOU all for your lovely comments and entries for the SS... I haven't got around to reading them all but am planning an evening of hopping... so I shall be around to see you shortly... time to go... Galley Slave is trying to cook a spag bol and I can smell it burning... TTFN

Hels x

Oh and... there were a few pics of the Galley Slave in her hat but... I looked like a right old moose so they are deleted rofl

Oh Hels I have missed you and your antics! Thank goodness Grim didn't make you walk the gang plank for burning the breakfast. We have enjoyed a hol on the broads too, many years ago and loved it, but my back was so bad I had trouble walking up and down the steps, but still managed to have a great time! Although the dog kept jumping overboard to chace the ducks!! Good to have you back x

Yay your back, missed ya loads, like ultra loads, like more than all things Tim & Wendy loads lol. Thought you had gone off in search of Cheeto's or something. Ahh the Norfolk Broads brings back memories of my childhood holidays, no better way to relax (well apart from the index finger incident), glad you all had an enjoyable holiday. xx

Hi Hels, sounds like not so much a holiday as an endurance test. Did the same holiday years ago when the kids were teenagers and loved it - at no more than about 5mph it just had to be the most relaxing of holidays. Maybe you should have read Narrow Margins by Marie Browne before you took to the Broads. Good to see you back and hope you have a great weekend. Elizabeth x
