Goodly Morning Stampers and a very happy Sunday to you all! Many thanks for all the lovely entries last week and it was grand to see some new faces too :O)) The theme this week is an old favourite that has featured a few times already but it is a classic... and seeing as there are so many songs with this word in the title it makes sense to use them... so... the theme this week is... GOLD. To join in is simples... make a piece of artwork.. it can be a card, tag, ATC, altered art - the choice is yours... include the theme and some stamping on your piece and then leave a comment for me here with a link to the place you are showing your entry... or you can email me a piccie if you don't have a blog/flickr/picassa. The challenge will remain open until 21:00 Saturday April 9th '11.
For my entry I have altered a cheapy Ikea photo frame by covering it with paper from the Crowded Attic stack... and I have to say... erm... I am in need of another stack already... I lurve this set the most and the colours are right up my street. Anyways... the paper was popped onto the frame using Multi Medium (which I lurve too) and then I used a baby wipe to smudge some Traditional Tan paint over the top... just so it dulls back the images but so they are still a bit visible.
The next step is my fave...now... what ever did I do before Distress Stains were invented??? Well, now they are invented I am a happy bunny because I lurve these too... ooh a pattern emerging here already LOL I smooshed Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain onto the craft sheet, spritzed with a bit of water and then dipped the frame into the inkyness... flipped it back over and dried with a heat gun... and dipped again until I had the look I wanted.. I love how the dots appear... gives fab texture and depth. The centre of the frame was done in the same way... but once I had the paint on, I then made a really thin paint wash with Gold Dabber and smooshed the paper thru this first... so there is a smidge of gold showing through. I used the Gold Dabber to stamp a script and then Coffee Archival to stamp the script again. The mat for the sentiment is made in the same way... but with a bit more gold.
The ickle paper roses are made using the Flower Power stamp set... check out the teensy ones... how fiddly they are... but look so sweet. I added a strip of punched Bazzill with more of the inky cardstock over the top - a music score was stamped on this... and then the seam binding is coloured with Antique Linen Stains and little titchy dabs of Vintage Photo were added to it. Finally I smudged Gold Dabber right around the edges, added the pins and roses to the front, popped a couple of Idea-ology Corners on and the gave it one last spritz with Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls... I lurve these too!
So... I hope you like the challenge theme this week... oooh and next week the Sunday Stamper is being sponsored so there will be some yummy candy to be won... and I also have to think about the end of the month... being as I am away and all that... did I mention I am going away to America to go to Ranger U??? I did? Oh, oopsie, I forgot I had ... (not) rofl Right... that's it from me.. thanks for looking.... TTFN

Cooo, this is gorgeous Hels. Stunning use of all that gold.
Can't believe how many lovely creations I've missed this week. Hope you forgive me I'm having a teeny bit of trouble (typical English understatement here) finding an outfit for my daughter's wedding. Slight feeling of panic coming on (another understatement, lol!)and the search is consuming all my free time. I'll try to keep up better this week.
Hugs
