Simon Says... Stars...

...the Simon Says Stamp & Show Challenge this week is Stars... and I have been busy and made a tag and a half. I say a half because that realllllly annoyinggggg thing happened whilst making the first version... yep, I dropped an Archival inkpad straight onto the tag... needless to say, the swearbox ihas just enjoyed being fed lol

So, I have made this tag from scratch... cutting the tag and the paper cover using the Alterations Tag Die... and...Victor (I promise I am not going to be annoying and mention the Vagabond in every post... ) I pasted the paper (Crowded Attic) over the top of the card tag using my last few drops of Multi Medium (sob, need more!) and then used a babywipe to smudge some cream paint to dull the text on the paper. I then splodged some Walnut Stain Distress Stains onto the craft sheet and smudged the tag through it... The stars are Tim stamps... and Idea-ology hanging from the Charm Clip (that I broke my nail on trying to prize it open... I am thinking, I should have left this tag alone after the first mishap LOL)

The butterfly is another stamp from the new Papillon set by the one and only Duke of Distress... coloured with a waterbrush and Distress Inks.. and then spritzed with Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls mists - this makes it shimmer, like a real butterfly. The frame is cut using the Tag die again and Ten Seconds Studios metal (Bronzed God - my absolute fave!) Oh and I used Stains to change the colour of the seam binding and trim.

So, here is the bodged tag... I wouldn't mind but I had faffed for half an hour with it... and yep, I tried to get rid of the ink but... it is stuck fast... sometimes things just ain't resurrectable (is that a word???)

I am happy today because the sun is streaming in thru the window of the Room of Stash (hey, it is sunny outside too LOL) and it has put a ... spring (geddit) in my step! Right, time to get cracking on the Sunday Stamper for tomorrow... if you like a challenge pop by to see what I am up to :O)) TTFN

LOL sounds like my piece for Simon Says as I broke my nail trying to open the brads at the back, in fact I stuck one straight down my nail to which then started to bleed. The things we do in the name of craft. Love your tag, the trim is yummy and love the butterfly. I always love this colour palette. Tracy x

The tag is gorgeous, even the "ruined" one looks good - surely someone of your skill could turn it into a work of art?!

Great tag! You should have dropped the inkpad a few more times - just looks like distressed lines to me. Enjoy the sunshine!!

Oooh, this is lovely!!! The embellishments are fab, especially the butterfly. After slicing my finger open with a knife this morning & then dropping a - full - mug of coffee all over the floor, I decided not to craft today; the risk of doing further damage was too great. :) I was at the Stictch & Craft show in London yesterday & got to see the Vagabond up close - I really, REALLY want one.

Hi hun, just in under the wire for Sunday Stampers here
Not been on much this week so just had a quick scroll through last few days; absolutely this tag and the butterfly one, and your WV box thing. Ooh lucky girl getting a Victor ;-)

Hels, this is BEAUTIFUL!!! I love every part of it! I'm sorry about the broken nail, but it was a well-worth-it sacrifice.

I'm glad you're enjoying your times with Victor (lol). I'm hoping to have more time with Vincent tomorrow.

Thanks for joining us at the Simon Says Stamp & Show Challenge!

You know, sometimes our most wonderful creations come from mistakes. I think your tag is stunning! I love all the subtle text...both typeset and script in the background. The metal embellishment piece you used is wonderful! Lovely tag ... so glad you finished it out. It's beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing it with us at Simon Says Stamp and Challenge!

Your tag is totally stunning Hels, I love the soft colours and your embellishment is gorgeous!!!
You might look into getting yourself a huge bottle of acrylic matte medium (just thought I would metion LOL, it's a little runnier but still good!)
Thanks for playing along with us for the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge this week.
HuGs Kim :)

Gorgeous tag, Hels! Love the background colors! Thanks for joining the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge! As for the botched tag, you could drop the ink pad in a few more random spots and call it a design....lol
