WOYWW... Life Is Good!!!

...I have been a baaaaaaaaaad blogger and missed two whole days of blogging - positively unheard of I know but... I couldn't help it... you see, I have been incredibly distracted by a rather wonderful and utterly erm bonkers (in the nicest way possible of course) American by the name of Ellen Vargo. I may have mentioned in passing *ok, several hundred times* that I had a visitor coming to stay, all the way from the US of A *that rhymes!!!* Well, if you read Sunday's post you will know that Ellen arrived safely and as of midnight Saturday night/Sunday morning, neither of us had paused for breath. We still haven't and it is... wonderful!!! The title of the post today is WOYWW because it is Wednesday and Wednesday is the day that we crafters fling open the doors to our Rooms of Stash so we can all have a right good old nosey at the desks of fellow addicts, I mean crafters. If you haven't heard of this marvelous phenomenon, please do hop on over to see Julia, she who is Head Desk Inspector Extraordinaire and hostess of the WOYWW, she will tell you all about how to join in and has a linky for everyone to hop off into Blogland from. (does that make sense? my addled brain is fried and I need bed... I am just still too excited to sleep!!!ROFL) anyways, I went off at a tangent there... I was going to tell you about the "Life is Good" part of the title - well, that is a little turn of phrase that Ellen says and I think it is perfect for summing up my week so far!

Yesterday we went to LB Crafts and, on our bestest behaviour, we took part in a FAB class with THE Linda Elbourne and had a ball. I haven't done a class for yonks and it was just so lovely to sit and make Christmas cards and play with ink and paint and have a natter with other lovely craftyaddicts. Oh and yep, I now have 6 Christmas cards all made and ready to send out... as for the other 100 odd, well, I guess there is always next year LMSO

So, on my desk... are some pressies that Ellen brought for me... LOVE those Maya Road pins and Idea-ology Snaps... oh and check out the ickle owl .. isn't he just ADORABLE!!! Also, a Mini Book that was an actual kit from one of Wendy Vecchi's classes that Ellen got for me and we put together on Sunday... and... some Hambly rub on's just in case a certain Duke of Distress uses them on his 12 Tags... and... the most prized pressie in THE WORLD... a class kit straight from... THE WENDY VECCHI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Be still my thundering, excitable heart for uno momento - let me tell you what happened... Ellen is taking a class with Wendy... Wendy walks past Ellen and pops the kit into her bag and says "take that to Hels for me... " OMG! OMG!! OMG!!! I am soooo lucky!!! It actually contains stamped images that Wendy has touched... I keep stroking the bag and I did consider actually taking it to bed with me but I don't think Grim would be too chuffed sharing his bed with Grungepaper and chipboard ROFL Did you ever do that when you were little? You know, get a pressie that you just couldn't bear to be apart from so much that you took it to bed with you? Cos I have to say that because I have just read back what I said and it just sounded soooo wrong... so I am thinking, you know what I mean don't you...*pllleeeeease* otherwise I am going to sound a bit...erm... strange LMSO

So, we have had a FAB time so far - we have had a crafty day making Studio 490 art which was a joy indeedily... then we had a bit of a moochy day on Monday because I made a boo-boo... I decided I would take Ellen to a country pub for lunch, so she could see the English countryside and see a traditional hostelry... best laid plans and all that... it was shut!!! It is shut every Monday... so to make up for the disappointment we went to LB for a little looksie LOL I have cooked every night... poor Grim is in a state of shock that he has had real food made from scratch!! Saturday was lasagne, Sunday was Roast Lamb dinner with Yorkshire Puds cos Ellen had never tried them before (and she loved them!) Monday was Bangers & Mash and more Yorkshire Puds and last night was homemade chicken curry... tonight... we are having a pizza delivered... well, there is only so much cooking a girl can do, plus, Grim would get used to it and I would be making a rod for my own back ROFL

Anyways... I shall stop with the waffling now and get me to my bed... thanks for looking (if you are still with me ROFL)... have a fantabulous day... we are off to see the Queen and meeting Jennie in Covent Garden (I lurve Covent Garden, shops, market, Lush... ooooh, Snow Fairy from Lush - my fave!!!) TTFN!

Hels x

You cooked?! What a wonderful hostess you are. The food sounds yummy - never had Yorkshire pudding, how's about putting the recipe (or description) on your blog (or a photo, lmso.) Keep having a blast together. Glad to hear you loved your WWV (wonderful wendy vecchi) toys and that you want to sleep with 'em. Ah, the remembrances of the past! Enjoy one another. Hugs

Oh my Hels, I am so far behind with my visits again and I see you have been posting the most marvelous creations as well as telling wonderful stories, Lol!

You had me laughing out loud at your antics on the way to the airport to pick up your friend. Since then it sounds like you and Ellen are having the best time two crafters could have.

Enjoy the rest of your week and I hope I get to keep up much better now. I can't keep missing all this wonderful inspiration.

Lots of hugs
