Curiously Industrial Says Simon...

...Actually, Simon never said that... I just made it up cos I am combining my entries for the Compendium of Curiosities and the Simon Says Stamp & Show challenges this week. So... the SSS&S is to make something Shabby - easy peasy cos most of the things I make are pretty shabby LOL

I made a tag! For a change LOL Actually, I have 20 of them now... and I know I say this every week but I love this challenge because it reminds me to use all those different techniques, however, in keeping with the challenge rules, I won't say the how to's etc for the CCC - all I will say is that I have never tried this one before and I am sold on it... love it loads and will deffo be doing it again.

As well as the way in the book, I also tried it with Gold and Copper Dabbers and it looks fab - the dabbers are on the flourishes on the tag - but I have to say... I had a... erm... mishap with the Metallic Mixatives... actually, with the Copper one to be precise... so, I haven't used my Copper Mixative for literally yonks. Inside the bottle is a little ball bearing which you need to shake about to get the stuff mixed into the other stuff (note use of teckernical terms again LOL) So, there I was, shaking the bottle and it looked ok and mixed... so I went to pop a drop onto the felt and it wouldn't come out... so, being as I am utterly stoooopid, I looked at the nozzle of the bottle to see if it was blocked.. and yes, I will still squeezing said bottle... suffice to say, Metalic Mixatives don't taste very nice at all and blending solution is very good for zapping zits ROFL

Am wondering if Mixatives come out of nighty's too... only, I mention this cos I am such a lazy slut today I haven't got dressed yet!!! Well, I am half dressed cos I have got my socks and slippers on... cold feet and creativity do not go well together... I think I had better go now and get a shower and maybe get dressed... thank goodness no one has come to the door this morning! Thanks for looking... have a goodly day... TTFN

Love the color choices you made as well using non-industrial elements. Hmmm...methinks you need to start creating in some old clothes...but they don't give me nearly the artsy mojo that I have when I'm dressed properly and probably going to spill something. LOL

Love your tag. Colours are fab, and love the technique on the paint. What are you like, crafting in your jimjams! I had trouble getting my copper ball to rattle too, but I didn't do what you did!!

Oh, Hels. You just made my day! I've been in a really bad place for the past couple of weeks and haven't had any time or desire to go see anyone's blog let alone comment.
But you RAWK, girl! I love your art. Just looking at your pieces made me smile. They are so POSITIVE and I love all the oranges and pinks and reds. Actually I love all the colors and the combinations you use.
Thanks for being there.

Absolutely gorgeous - as usual!

No mention of your injuries today - hope you're recovered from your slide down the stairs! Have I missed it, or have you not been for the second opinion on your neck lump yet?
Take care - keep on making us laugh!!

This tag is beautiful Hels. The colours are really special. I had a similar accident with Alcohol Inks not so long ago. Er, Wild Plum alcohol ink doesn't look so good on a pale mustard carpet!!! Can't believe I got it all out with Blending Solution.

I've been AWOL for pretty much the past week or so and can't believe how many gorgeous projects I nearly missed. I'm really glad I decided to scroll back so I got to see them all.

Hugs

LOLOL Oh, Hels... you sure can make me laugh!! When looking at the tip of the bottle, don't squeeze!!!!!! However, your tag is totally gorgeous!!! And well, if it doesn't come out of the nighty, just add more... make it an art project... stencil and spray and dab and drip and sounds wonderful to me!!!!

You never know.. Simon *might* have said that. ;-)

You know, Hels, you are such an amazing artist, and though I feel like I'm starting to repeat myself, I have to say that you just keep making the most gorgeous art for the CCC! You have such a great eye for color, and your designs are second to none. And you always, ALWAYS rock the technique du jour, which you've done again this week! That flower is a total "Ooh la la" piece, and all the fun embellishments just make it even cooler. Thanks for demonstrating how well this works with Dabbers, too-- it never would have occurred to me to try that.

Oh, ick, I'm sorry you got a mouthful of Alcohol Ink! I've had that little ball bearing lodge inside the bottle tip and blown the nozzle right off that sucker, but I've never actually consumed the ink. Good tip, though, about the Blending Solution. I've got a zit or two that need zapping! ;-)
