Sunday Stampers - Week 120 - Ruby Blue...

Morning Stampers! Happy Sunday!! I know, I say this every week...but... is it just me or... is time moving faster than normal? Maybe I have been kidnapped by Dr Who and am stuck in his Time And Relative Dimension In Space machine... **note, the new Dr, that Matt bloke.. not my fave Dr Who.. my favest Dr ever has to be... David Tennant.. well, you can sit and watch him haring about like a loon and quietly drool and the boys never notice ROFL** Blimey, I am off on a tangent early today! Anyways... enough of my space travelling... THANK YOU to everyone who joined in with the challenge last week... it was grand to see everyone's fave stash.

This week the theme has been chosen by my mate Dan... who just so happens to be the recipient of my entry too... cos it was a special week for him and I wanted to make something nice... he suggested this fabby song *if you haven't heard of it... apparently it is on the medical show Grey's Anatomy - HERE is a linky to YouTube to hear it :O))* So... the theme is... BLUE, RED or BLUE & RED together... tis up to you! To join in, all you need to do is make a piece of art that incorporates some stamping and the theme... and then leave me a comment here to the place that you are showing your art and I can hop and see you. **see more instructions below :O)**

Anyways... I have a confession... I have been laid up most of Saturday with the most horrendious pain in my back again... so I haven't actually made specifically for today... I always make my entry on a Saturday evening while listening to Alan Carr on Radio 2... however, yesterday... nope, that card got made in the morning and then that was it... a long deep hot bath *so I was hippo like with nostrils only poking above water* didn't help... so I thought, hey, the pressie I made for Dan has a bit of red on it...*bingo counter* and some blue too! So, I decided to use it for my entry. ~I am such a cheat~

The base is actually a lid from an old box... I used Trad Tan to cover the wood... then slapped Rock Candy Crackle over the top... used Glimmer Mists to colour it and added some paper from the Lost & Found stack for the backing. I covered three mini canvases with old papers and added Broken China (blue!), Spiced Marmalade and Crushed Olive to them to colour them. I then went a bit made with loads of bits and bobs I have been collecting for yonks... old rusty screws, an old Penny, some old watch stuff, a rusty star... a Monopoly piece...

Now, confession time... *hangs head in shame* there isn't actually any stamping on this piece... disgraceful behaviour for the challenge host to not include the main thing of the challenge... but... I have used Letterpress Blocks which are used for stamping typeface... so... am I allowed to get away with it or... I know - I got an idea!!! If you enter.. you can leave out the stamping this week... I wonder how hard it would be to make something without using a stamp?? Would that be an extra challenge??? Anyways... I am praying for pain relief soonly cos I am feeling proper sorry for myself here... so, I shall say TTFN and rest up again... and... THANK YOU for looking... have a grand Sunday... and... I will come back later today or tomorrow with a stamped piece... especially for the SS... promise :O)) *Hels hobbles off to rest up... one, two, three... awwwww... come on, am milking it for symapthy here LOL* TTFN

Hels x

Have you thought about a TENS machine for your back, works for labour pains, so it should give you a bit of relief...and amuse Alfie Cat

Have you ever tried the Tens machine for the pain? Ask your DR or pharmacy about this or I'm sure you could get info about it online. My DH swore by it when he had a bad back, he said it def' helped him.

This piece just proves what you can achieve WITHOUT a stamp. Great piece Hels and what a wonderful gift for Dan. The texture is fantastic and I love all the embellishments. Don't know how you get so much art done, each piece must take ages. My piece for The Sunday Stamper is here. Have a good week. Tracy Evans x
