...yes indeedily... I just knew that it was only a matter of time before I 'fessed up and showed you the state of my room... I promised myself I would tidy away properly after each crafty session... I promised that stamps would be placed on their proper covers... and I am sure I may have been a tad smug *who me???* on previous Wednesday's about the lovely tidyness of my desk... Have you heard about this phenomenon called WOYWW??? It is headed up by Mrs Dunnit who started this addictive craze a while back and now has 100 plus peeps showing their workspaces each week... not seen it??? Hop on over to Julia's blog to see all the news. Before I waffle on anymore... I didn't get chance to get to as many desks as I wanted to last week... it is baaaad of me and I promise to try better this week... and I really appreciate all your lovely comments that you have left for me... *erm.. I have just noticed that the embossing powders drawer that I opened to photograph last week....is still open... see, that is how bad I am at the moment!! I need HELP!*
So, when I went away for my *ahem* special birthday in June, I popped into the most fabby shop and got a gorgeous metal wall hanging... it says LOVE and it is there, just to the side of my desk... I can't decide whether to alter it or not...whatch fink? Alcohol inks and some pearls etc or leave be?
I am on cake delivering duties today... piccie of said cake will be shown at a later date... ie, after the birthday girl has seen it... the smell of it has driven me mad all evening though... chocolate cake, covered in chocolate icing (frosting for my American pals) and then covered with Flake and then decorated with Caramel Nibbles...mmmm.... hope she likes it!!! Hey there Mrs. Messy... :) Hmmm. to alter or not to alter... that is the question...tough call. I think it's beautiful just as it is, but since it's in YOUR room of stash, and you always do such a great job altering things, I think you should go for it!
Oooooh...I was waiting for a picture of that chocolate cake you made (and a bite of it too if possible). It sounds so delicious! My vote is to alter the Love wall hanging. I have seen some of the metal you've altered with alcohol inks and they are breath-taking. Go for it!!! Marijane

Wow what a lovely lot of stamps you have. Keep up the mess it is still not up to my standard. Although I had to tidy up at the weekend for visitors and it nearly killed me, but messyish again now!

Yes Hels, that's a MESS all right ... in fact it's what the Cumbrians would call a right scrow!! I feel you are sufficiently ashamed as to make it unnecessary for me to point this out however. Do not like the wall hanging at all, don't think it's your sort of thing - send it over here and I'll find a home for it ...

lol love the mess, doesn't look like your room at all! how about instead of altering the 'love' hanging, why don't you mount it or hang it over a painted, distressed,stamped background...that way you can change the background when you fancy a change.

you think this is messy? my ever decreasing work space is piled up at least a foot deep all the way around. when one section slips to the floor i clear the whole thing off and start over.
my thought is to not alter it. it is so pretty as it is. when i start altering something i like and try to make it more interesting i frequently end up wishing i had not done it. granted, you are way more talented than i am and your projects always look so pretty. but you did ask...

OK!! Now it is looking like a craft room!!! As for the Love wallhanging, as pretty as it is, it just looks so bare hanging there! It definitely needs a Hels loving touch to give it some real life!!! Go for it and I can't wait to see the result!!

Did you really think you were going to have a tidy desk forever?? I would be very disappointed! Besides it is much more fun snooping around a messy desk! its not such a messy space, very creative. Hope your cake delivery went well. I dont think you should alter your wall hanging, it looks stunning as it is. Mind you that is just my opinion as I am rubbish at altering things, you of course are a master at it.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it! And BTW, I've been lurking on your blog for a while ( i think I commented once or twice, but mostly lurking) and would just like to say that your art is awesome!
Nothing wrong with that desk at all its looks fabulously creative and inspiring! I would go for it with the hanger (says she who has loads of items around the house and means to alter them but never seems to get around to it!).

I don't give a crap if it's frosting or icing or sticky sweet gunk on the top - call it what you want, but now I have to Go Right Now to the cupcake bistro and find an adequate substitute for An Actual Gihugic Cake, which I now want. Right Now.
Most seriously, this is my last (okay, and only) WOYWW visit for today because I am putting on mascara - and pants too probably - and going there before they freakin' close.
If I do not become completely engrossed, I am going to post a picture of my delectable prize so that everyone else has to go buy cake too.
I WILL NOT GAIN WEIGHT ALONE.
