Morning Stampers!!! First of all, many thanks to everyone who joined in with the challenge last week... amazing artwork out there :O)) Guess what??? I am soooo excited...for today is my big day...yep, the big 4-0h... and to celebrate this, I have put together some *what I think is* FAB CANDY... it is a selection of my fave things PLUS Mr Holtz's Compendium of Curiosities...no, it isn't my old one, it is brand new, 'specially for one lucky entrant who will be chosen at random... but more of that later... the theme this week is... NUMBERS. The song title is rather apt I think - I wasn't even a twinkle in me Dad's eye in the summer of '69!
I have made another piece of art for my Room of Stash, based wholly on a gorgeous project in my copy of the C of C's - don't worry, it is in yours too, I haven't torn the page out ROFL. Anyways... I started off by painting a plain wooden shadow box with Trad Tan paint, once this had dried, I sanded away some of it back to the wood, so it looked shabby. I then added a few patches of Old Paper Cracklepaint.
The middle of the box is a piece of paper from the Lost & Found stack - you gotta hand it to that bloke, he really does know how to get the very best designs for us doesn't he? Then, I got a couple of mini canvases and a teensy frame, all of which were covered with old pages - using Matte Medium to glue them on.
I coloured them and then got down to the decorating of the frame... using just a couple of background stamps from the Tim collection, I used StaZon to add flourishes and splotches... I wanted to add to the shabby look of the piece.
The A R T are actually letterpress letters which I have been hoarding, I added on some Idea-olgy and some other bits and bobs and finally, this is my favest bit... I had an old door handle, goodness knows where I picked it up but it has been in my junk bag for years... this was stuck to the top of the frame... I love it, it is really old fashioned. All of the numbers on this piece add up to my date of birth... can you see where the numbers are... the 6 is the one that is kinda hidden :O))
Right... onto the candy bit... to join in with the Sunday Stamper all you need to do is make a piece of art, add in the theme and some stamping, leave me a message here with a link to the place you are showing your art... AND... if you would like to be in with a chance of winning the CANDY, please click to follow me (if you don't already), pop a piccie of the candy with a link to my blog in your sidebar and then leave me a comment to let me know you have done this... anyone who also enters with a piece of art as well, will be added into the hat twice...so, double the chance of winning :O)) The challenge will be open until 21:00 Saturday June 19th '10. The winner of the candy will be announced on the next Sunday Stamper (June 20th). There... as the Meerkats say... simples!
