Giz A Kiss...

... Go on, you know you want to LOL When I went to play at Wendy's last week I made a couple of tags using those heavenly divine new Alterations Dies by Mr T'Holtz... this one is on my wishlist now...there's a surprise :O))

I used some Cut & Dry with Traditional Tan (!) paint to make a little stripey resist on the tag, dried it, then added some Distress Inks over the top to colour it - the inks are Pumice Stone, Barn Door and Fired Brick with a little Black Soot thrown in for definition. I made a background using Studio 490 stamps by smooshing ink onto a craft sheet and spritzing with water, then dipping the stamp into the mix and pressing it onto the tag. It gives a more blendy look and the different colours transfer over really well.

The dies were used on the Bug with Grungeboard, which I then coloured with the same inks and stuck the heart together with Glossy Accents. Now, I am a tad clumsy and had splodged GA over the swirly part of the heart, so I decided to fill it up with GA to cover the error...and added in a few BeaDazzles to jazz it up. The wings were painted with Gold Dabber and then I used Trad Tan with a piece of sequin waste to make the dotty pattern. The crown had the Gold Dabber treatment and then was covered with more BeaDazzles.

I added some gorgeous red RicRac ribbon and a little charm - not sure where I got this but I think it is a 7Gyspies product, I popped a little piece of an Adage Ticket into it and then tied it to the RicRac. I had such a fabby day... can't believe it's a week ago already! Where on Earth is time going to??? The Kiss is from the Idea-ology range - I just dabbed Gold paint onto it and wiped off, so it sat into the recess of the letters.

So... today is a very important day in the UK - tis our General Election day and I just wanted to mention a subject very close to my heart... that I will forever be in debt to those brave women who tirelessly campaigned for women to have the right to vote. Those Suffragettes deserve a mention today - I will never take it for granted that I can get my Polling Card and go and put the X in the box - I will remember them, their struggles, their loss of life and say a silent prayer of thanks to them all. Brave women who made life so very much better and easier for all us women today. Right, enough heavy stuff from me - enjoy your day and if you are like me - enjoy your evening and night... I will be staying up and watching the "Swingometer" and seeing where the future is going to take us... TTFN

X.... a kiss first as requested. :-)
Love your tag.
What a shame it's such a miserable day to treck out to vote. I have a feeling it will put some off. Not me I hasten to add...I will be making my mark so that when things go wrong I can say...."well, it's not my fault" :-)

Fab tag!
Just to say how much i agree with the voting thing.....it really bugs me when people (especially women!) say they can't be bothered to vote...I always tear my hair out and say people died to give us the right!!!
My x will be used later today :)

Bright and cheery, love it. Not to get too heavy on the old election thingy but this has to be the most exciting election I've been able to vote in. Will also be staying up.

Great Tag Hels!!! I love how you used the GA in the cut out of the heart!! Great fix... I feel the same as you about the incredible women that fought for women's right to vote here in the U.S.

Oh that's gorgeous, and thanks for the step by step description. I really should make tags more often ...

So agree with you about the suffragettes, which is why it drives me WILD when women don't exercise their franchise!

The tag is superb Hels. I wish my dies would hurry up and come. They're coming through in dribs and drabs. How annoying! Especially when I keep seeing wonderful makes by you. Love all the depth and texture you have on this one.

My sentiments exactly over the voting and suffragette thing. It's what gives my conscience a dig and won't let me be apathetic about voting. I'll be staying up as long as I can stay awake!

Great piece, love the sparkly bits in the swirly centre of the heart! Like you, I feel an extra sense of "must vote" because it really isn't that long since my chromosomes would have made it impossible for me to do so. I get so mad at people who just can't be bothered - I think we should pack 'em all off to live under a dictatorship somewhere!

This is such a fabulous tag - I love all the textures and layers on it.

And yes I did vote - and it was a lovely sunny day yesterday when we walked to the village hall. No queues, perfect.
