A-Tissue!

...Bless you! Actually, bless Beeswax and paper tissues and napkins for my latest creation...the other day a few peeps asked what I was doing with an iron on my desk...actually, I hate to admit this but..I enjoy ironing...I find it really therapeutic...even if my back doesn't LOL...anyway, the iron was on my desk because I was ironing paper napkins and tissue...have a I taken leave of my senses? Nah, I was merely ironing out the wrinkles so I could stamp onto it and not have big ridges all over the place.
**Some of the pics have been taken with a flash...and some not...which is why they all look a bit rubbish...the drawback of having a basic camera, a basic photographer and a shiney piece of art LOL**

The canvas I altered is only a tiddler...4" x 3" but it has got lovely deep edges which are great for beewax projects...oh, and that is also why there was a Melt Pot on my desk too...I love my Melt Pot...I had it for a whole year before I was finally brave enough to give it a proper go and now I can't be without it LOL

I used some Traditional Tan paint (yep, that old paint again) to coat the canvas and set it to dry...then I got ironing...the iron is actually a travel iron I have had for donkeys years and never once taken on hols with me cos there is never enough room in the suitcase...although...I could chuck out a few of Grim's t-shirts and add in the Melt Pot instead ROFL

The tissues were then cut to sizes and painted onto the canvas with the beeswax...I made a collagey look to the piece by layering different patterns over each other and then on the plain layer of tissue I did a bit of stamping...using StaZon and added some more Beeswax over the top to stick these down... the script is one of Mr T' Holtz's new mini stamps and the art is from goodness knows where but it is an old fave :O))

Once the beeswax was all set, out came a duster....argh! No!!!! Not for dusting and chores...but for polishing the surface of the wax...oooh, it gives a lovely sheen to the canvas...and then I used SuperGlue and added some micro glass beads in patches and a few DewDropz...and finally, the best bit I think... remember I said the other day that Annette had sent me a goody bag full of .. er...goodies? Well, the bead and sequin flower was in the bag, I love it...and I have another two different coloured ones to play with still...this was stuck on with SuperGlue too. I can't wait to get playing with some of the other heavenly bits that were in that bag too...they are all lush!!

Well...you know I said yesterday that I may have a bit of news today? Well, I have!!!!! OR should I say....me and Grim have....I am so excited I could do a jig...*actually, I did attempt one earlier but the less said about that the better LOL* Yesterday...we completed on our new house!!!! Which means...argh, packing up this place...and moving...but...it also means...that we will be in a lovlier house, quieter area.. and..the best bit...my Room of Stash is twice the size....yipyah and thrice!!! I cannot wait to get installed in there...it is soooo exciting...am not looking forward to the actual moving part, I don't take kindly to being uprooted...but I just know it will be worth it and this really will be the last time I move...and after the past few months which have been, to be brutal, totally horrendous, we finally have some goodly news! So, if you have a free day or two, pop on over and help me pack...pleeeeeease!!! We are moving further North..which I am more than happy about seeing as I am a Yorkshire lass in the Sarf...but not too far North that we will be too far away from London. I have been wanting to mention it before but didn't want to jinx anything...so now we have completed, I want to run up and down the street shouting about it!! Thanks for looking...have a lovely Good Friday...tis a good one for us :O)) Happy Easter x

Waaahooooo, Hels, CONGRATS on the new place!! So excited for you! And doubling your studio size???? I'm soooo jealous ;). I will certainly help you pack and move, with one or two teensy conditions: 1) you let me keep any of the stash you want to chuck; and 2) pay my travel expenses, maybe? ROFL. Seriously, so happy for you. We'll want pics, you know. :) Oh and P.S. - your canvas is sooo lovely!! Gotta get me some wax!
