The Power Of You - A Hanging Art Design

Morning peeps,

Whoops, bad Blogger, not been on for a few days cos I have been a bit busy but I have managed to get a bit of crafting done LOL

This is a hanging art piece that I made over the weekend when Andrea came to stay. We both started out with the base, which is a chipboard BIA book cover, and then went a bit mad with inks and those heavenly Wendy Vecchi Studio 490 stamps....hey, you thought that I had gotten over that obsession didn't you? :O)) Nah, I can't seem to stop using them....and this time I have really gone mad!

I started off by using Adirondack Pigment inks and Cut & Dry foam to blend in Juniper, Cloudy Blue and EggPlant colours - making a darker edge instead of a splodge like I normally do ...

I used two different Studio 490 background stamps, separating them with a piece of old lace and a bit of gingham ribbon. I inked up some Grungepaper using the same inks and to get that extra depth of colour, I heat dried the layers of ink and kept building the colour up. Using more Studio 490 stamps, I made the flower and the butterfly embellies and then using my Slice, I cut out a few card shapes, inking these to co-ordinate in with the design too. I ran one of the shapes thru the Bug, embossing the Nestie shape as I went and then highlighted the embossed text to make it pop a bit.

Finally, I added loads of metal bits to the piece, punched holes in the top and made a wirey coily hangy thing and added a little beady charmy thingy I made....I reckon you will get the picture even if the descriptions leave a bit to be desired!! Oh and I almost forgot...I wanted "that" colour of DistressStickles....so I mixed Faded Jeans with Milled Lavendar....and guess what!!! It worked :O))

Thanks for looking and have a lovely day

Hels x
