Sunday Stamper - Week 40 - Karma Chameleon - Plus Blog Candy!!!

Morning Stampers!

Oooooh, nearly Christmas....hope you are all ready and sorted for the festivities! I am more or less ready now, only a few bits n bobs to buy for the big feast and then I can sit and relax for a couple of days!!

As it is Christmastime I wanted to set a festive kind of Sunday Stamper this week. I could have chosen a Christmas song title for the theme but there are soooo many fab ones to chose from, I thought I would do something a little different, yet still have the traditional Christmas colours. Are you with me still? LOL

So, the theme for this week is...... Red, Gold and Green!

Are you singing the song in your head yet? What a classic song from the days of my ... er... childhood (yes, well, I can pretend can't I? :O))

Whoops, nearly forgot to say thank you to you for joining in last week....I loved travelling around to look at your fab works of art too...so thank you for joining in xx

Anyways, I made a canvas (no! Don't groan...yes, it is another canvas and yes it is the same old style but it is quite pretty LOL)

I started by mixing up some Adirondack Dabbers, using Red Pepper, Cranberry and white to get that perfect rich red colour I wanted. I painted the whole of the canvas with this mix and set it aside to dry.

Next, I mixed some Lettuce Dabber with white and painted 9, 2" square pieces of Stampbord. Once these were dry, I used a teensy little sponge which my pal Linda gave me, and I splotched Gold Dabber all over the surface of the painted Stampbord. I liked the effect, so I went a little bonkers and did the same technique on the canvas!!

I used black StaZon and stamped all my favourite Christmas images onto the Stampbord. The images I used are by The Artistic Stamper and Stampers Anon, Tim Holtz Collection. I used a scratchy tool to highlight the images and make Santa's beards go white too.

The edge of the canvas was stamped with the Believe stamp and I then added a few holly images which I immediately covered with Gold UTEE (which is by The Artisic Stamper too.) You can't see in my most excellent photo's but...when you look directly at the holly it looks gold and when you look at an angle, it looks black! How strange!!

Finally, the canvas was prepped more gold UTEE, the tiles were clear UTEE'd and then stuck on with Glossy Accents. The little dots on the tiles are DewDropz.

As ever with the Sunday Stamper, all you need to do is make something using the colours mentioned and make sure you incorporate some stamping in your design. Pop a post here with a link to the place you are showing your little work of art and you could be in with a chance of winning some Blog Candy.

I am giving away a couple of mini mini Stitchels stamp sheets and some Kling On to go with them, also, a few lengths of ribbon and some little flowers too. So, if you enter the challenge this week, don't forget to mention where you are showing your artwork, so I can come and have a look.

The winner of the Candy will be drawn, at random, next Sunday and announced on the Sunday Stamper post.

Thanks for looking, happy Stamping...and .... a very Merry Christmas to you all and lotsa love xx
