Sunday Stampers - Week 30 - Don't Worry "Be" Happy!

Hello Stampers!

Thank you to those of you who took part in last weeks challenge - I saw some lovely creations and it was good to see different designs using the Clowns from the challenge.

This week, in honour of my friend Linda being a jolly good sport in the name of charity, I have decided to set the theme as Bee's. Mmmm, yes, you are probably wondering why I am using this theme in relation to charity....well, Linda is dressing up as a Bee today to raise some dosh for a charity that her work run. I am really hoping that she raises tons of money and is not too uncomfortable in that costume!! We need photo's, I reckon :O))

So, cos I couldn't think of a song title that had "Bee" in it, I cheated a little and chose this one. I love this song anyway, tis a cheery tune and I hope you will all be humming *pardon the pun* this all day long.

For my challenge, I set a double headed one this week. I ran out of time, like I always seem to be doing, so I set myself a speed crafting challenge and had to get the project made in under 15 mins.

Which I did!! Yes, this took me 12 mins and 49 seconds. I am not particularly impressed with it to be honest, speed crafting is not my forte obviously LOL

I cut out a house shap from sturdy card, coloured the whole surface with Scattered Straw Distress Ink. I then used a honeycomb border stamp to create a background - stamping with Fired Brick for the roof and Scattered Straw for the rest. Cos I was rushing, I didn't line the honeycombs up properly, so to cover up this messy bit, I used the Binding stamp that I loooove so much. And cos I was rushing, I stamped this in the wrong place, so added another couple of the binding images to cover up this mistake....can you see a theme starting here? I stamped the bee onto a piece of copy paper and cut it out. I then stamped the bee onto the house. I masked this and stamped another bee partly over the first one, and so on, until I had four bee's on my house. They looked a bit bland, so I used a Ranger White Pen to jazz up the wings, and at the same time I jazzed up the binding images. Finally, once I had stamped the title using StudioG alpha's, I edged the whole thing with Fired Brick Distress Ink and then Walnut Stain just to finish it.

I hope that you all like this challenge. I am sure that there will be a little bee somewhere in your stash...if not, then you could always stamp a flower or something and then draw one :O)) The products I used today are mostly available from The Artistic Stamper...and even better.... there is a special offer on for this weekend only there, they are offering to pay our VAT for us...how cool! So if you fancy grabbing a bargain and not having to pay the VAT on your stash...pop over and have a look at the heavenly new products that Jennie has just got in stock...they are in the Altered Art section...the little hangers are soooo cute....I can vouch for that cos I have a couple already LOL

As usual, you can make whatever takes your fancy and once you are done, please post here and add a link to the place you are displaying your creation so I can come and have a nosey.

Well, all there is for me to say is that I hope you will be busy buzzing about your crafty stash and your crafty area will be a hive of activity ... soz, couldn't help myself there!

Thanks for looking....oh, and if you are going to Ally Pally today I hope I bump into you...I will be the one with the massive bag of stash....hang on, that will be almost everyone won't it? :O))

Hugs

Hels x
