Sunday Stampers - Week 14 - It's Only Words....

Good Morning Stampers!

Another week has whizzed past and it has been a busy one for me....so nowt new there then!

This week the theme for the challenge is "Words"

I hope you are all singing the Bee Gee's song....or even making one up of your own :O))

I have made a card and a tag for this weeks challenge.


CARD




Using some of those most beautiful and strokable Fleuriste papers from Cosmo Cricket, I finally plucked up courage to cut them you know, I made a card featuring just one word. I used some of the die cut flowers from the pack and added little brads to them. The stamping is very simple for this card as I didn't want to detract from the gorgeousness of the papers....but then I felt a tad nawty for not doing some "proper" stamping...so I made a tag too :O))





TAG



I used a plain cream tag, blended Shabby Shutters and Dusty Concord Distress Inks over it, using Cut & Dry foam as usual. I splotched water onto the surface for a distressed look and then stamped the word dream in VersaFine Imperial Purple. I added a little crown that I stamped using Gold Metallic Dabber and embossed this with clear powder to set it.
Next, I took one of the word stamps from the Tim Holtz Collection and instead of having the sentiment as it is on the stamp, I inked each line individually and spread the words out a bit.
Finally, I used a new Penny Black stamp I managed to buy half price the other week....bargain cos I have been after this one for ages too! I inked the petals with Dusty Concord and the middle with Black Soot and then spritzed the stamp with water and stamped directly onto the tag, so I had a watercolour effect...I repeated this a few more times over the edges of the tag and finished by dragging the Gold Dabber around the edges.
