Christmas Tags

Hi there,

I have made three Christmas themed tags today. I managed to buy some wonderful papers last week and was itching to use them! I combined the papers with rubberstamping and a bit of inking too. I loved making them so much that I am tempted to make some more!

Tag 1

The papers I used are by Cosmo Cricket....aren't they gorgeous? :O)) For the front of the tag, I took a piece of Stampboard and used Cut & Dry foam to colour it with Fired Brick Distress Ink. I then spritzed the Stampbord with Antique Brass Tattered Angels...which is heavenly and I have used nearly half a bottle of it since I bought it on Saturday!! (Somehow, I think I will be buying more of these bottles!) I used my heat gun to dry the Stampbord and then stamped part of a Tim Holtz Ltd Edition stamp onto it using Walnut Stain Distress Ink. Then, once this had dried, I scratched the surface of the Stampbord around the Father Christmas hat to make it look like fur. I then dabbed some clear embossing ink onto it and sealed with clear embossing powder. Whilst the powders were still hot, I sprinkled a pinch of Enchanted Gold powder to add a little sparkle. I stamped the Merry Christmas stamp (Tim Holtz collection) directly to the paper again using Walnut Stain ink. To finish, I edged the whole tag with Gold Krylon and added a little snowflake to the fibres. I also decorated the back of the tag but am too lazy to take a photo of it!!! LOL

Tag 2

For this tag, I used the most delightful papers by My Minds Eye. I got these last week too - after vowing not to buy more Christmas stash as I have a load already!! I used the same style as the first tag, papers, Stampbord inked in the same way but using Faded Jeans Distress Ink along with the Walnut Stain. I used my Tim Ltd Edition stamp again...I love that stamp. I then finished the Stampbord the same as the first one but used Silver Stardust powders for the touch of glitter. I used the little holly leaf stamp from an unmounted Tim Holtz sheet, randomly stamping onto the paper with Walnut Stain. The Merry Christmas message is a Hero Arts stamp which I inked with Faded Jeans ink. I used another snowflake with fibres to finish and edged the tag with Silver Krylon. This tag has a decorated back too...again, too lazy to take the photo!! LOL

Tag 3

For my final tag, I used a different My Minds Eye paper...this one has delicate little snowflakes on it and has a very distressed feel. I used more Stampbord, inked up and spritzed as before and then stamped with the holly image. Again, I sprinkled clear embossing powders onto the surface and whilst still hot, sprinkled a little more silver Stardust powder. I edged the Stampbord with Silver Krylon and edged the tag too. Finally adding another little snowflake charm to the fibres at the top of the tag. Yes, this one has a decorated backside...you guessed it....tooooo lazy!!!

Considering I am not at all a Christmassy person, I loved making these tags. Those papers make it so easy to produce something pretty!

Thanks for taking timeout to look at my creations!
