... I am over the moon and honoured to be the Guest Designer for the Rainbow Lady's Challenge... and I got to pick the theme too!! All the deets for the challenge are HERE and this week it is the 200th challenge... which is a fab coincidence cos it is also my Sunday Stamper's 200th week this week too! Anyways... lovely Cynthia (Rainbow Lady herself) asked me a few weeks ago if I would like to be a Guest Designer and choose the theme. Oh yesh please, indeedily, says I... and then Cynthia reminded me that she was my very first Guest Designer on the Sunday Stamper about 271 years ago! I know, we are ageing well lol
Anyways... the theme I picked is VINTAGE. Now, it may be a total surprise but I do love all things vintage (well I'll go to the foot of our stairs eh?) I know it is predictable but... it is a lovely theme (well, I think so) and I decided to go for some lovely soft pinks and creams to make my vintagey piece.
I attacked some Art Parts with Distress Stains... sanded them, aged them, edged them with Gold Dabber and then set about making a little shelf for "vintage" finds... and of course, the obligatory Grunge rose had to make an appearance... what do you think to this one though? It is using one of the new Studio 490 floral stamps... I love it loads, it is a new fave already!
The base of the piece is one of the new Large Pages (for Creative Covers).... instead of using it as a page, I turned it 90degrees (couldn't find the degrees icon on the keyboard there) and made it into a hanging instead. I used a Rectangle Frame for the main centre piece and a Scallop Trim for the shelf. The leaves are Art Parts as is the little gold flower the rose is seated on.... oh yes, and the thimble and spools, they are Art Parts too.
An update about the Acupuncture... it hurts... but not much.. hurrah, I am such a baby! I couldn't really feel the doo-dah's (shalln't say needles incase I feel like passing out *again - but we won't talk about that... ahem*) go in. But, when they come out they sting a bit. I did have a bit of a reaction to them... I felt a bit weird when I left hospital... like a bit spacey... but that soon passed, well, I say soon... as soon as three hours later when I woke up from my nice little snoozle! Seriously, we got home, I snarfed a bacon buttie and then zonked out! I have got a reaaaaally annoying feeling in the sole of my foot at the moment, it is like a sting and when I press it, it tingles... the nurse said she would check that out next week. **you watch, it will be a verucca or something lol**
Right... I better go... I have a stack of ironing to do... but first... a few hours getting inky... well, it would be rude not to... Thanks for all the goodly wishes btw, means a lot! TTFN

I Can Sing A Rainbow
Hello again,
I have joined in a new challenge from Rainbow Lady. She has come up with a fab idea that we make something just using shades one colour and those colours must be in the Rainbow.....so this week I have started at the very beginning and have made something red.
I decided to make a tag as I will follow this challenge thru to the end of the rainbow and (who knows I may find that pot of gold) at the end of it I will have a little tag book to keep :O))
I started by using Fired Brick Distress Ink and covering the whole tag with this. I then smudged Aged Mahogany over the edges and then flicked water onto it. Drying with a heat gun made the water flicks evaporate quicker than drying naturally, so I kept some of the red colour showing. I then used a Dabber in Red Pepper to drag a few accents of red paint over the surface of the tag.
I then began stamping, using Lost Coast Designs and Paper Artsy stamps.
I used Distress Embossing powder in Fired Brick to accent the cats hat and then the scruffy edging of the tag.
Thanks for a fabby idea Cynthia, I love this challenge!

Rainbow Lady's Challenge - Feathers
Hi again
I have made a card for Rainbow Lady's Challenge this week, which is Feathers.
I used a design similar to one I have previously made for The Artistic Stamper. I used a plain square cream card and stamped the "lady" onto more cream card using Black StaZon ink. I matted this onto red card and then black card to add a little more definition. I then stamped the word "Desire" repeatedly on more cream cardstock, cut a strip of it and layered this onto red and black card. I added a little red feather behind the strip to hide the lady's boobies :O))
Had a lot of fun with this challenge so thank you to Cynthia. I will be looking out for the next challenge too!
Thanks for looking
