A Hopping Art Journey to the Darkroom Door...

...aha!  See what I did there huh?  Check this out:
Welcome to the Art Journey and Darkroom Door blog hop! All 23 members of the Darkroom Door and Art Journey design teams have joined together to bring you a 5 day creative extravaganza! Each artist will inspire you with a project using stamps from both of these fabulous companies.

I was so excited to hear the news that Darkroom Door and Art Journey were joining forces and putting on this fabulous blog hop... and I am very honoured to be a part of it too.  I was sent some gorgeous Art Journey stamps to play with and this is what I made...

I used three Size 5 manila tags for the base of my project, colouring each with Antique Linen and Crushed Olive DI's and edging them with Gathered Twigs DI.  I wanted a really natural and rustic look to my project to compliment the beautiful grasses stamp set from Art Journey.  I used most of the stamps on this set, stamping them in Tree Branch, Fern Green and Potting Soil Archival Inks, starting with the largest grass stamp in the palest colour and layering them up along the bottom of the tags.  I also added a few sprigs using Potting Soil so they hang down from the top of the tags.

I was squealing with glee when I saw the other stamp set that was sent to me... Butterflies!!!  A gal can never have too many butterflies and these two little smashers are perfect... one big one, one small one... so they were stamped onto cream card, coloured with Distress Markers in Tea Dye, Wild Honey and Rusty Hinge (to go with the rustic effect) and then curled and popped onto the tags.  The sentiment is from Darkroom Door... Art Words, stamped in Jet Black Archival and embossed with Crystal Antiquities Embossing Powder.  Bits of string to finish and then popped onto a piece of black mountboard to display the tags.

Giveaway!! Darkroom Door and Art Journey will be giving away a few prize packs, with winners randomly chosen from ALL of the blog hop comments received by Sunday, June 29th. Lots of chances to win some goodies, just leave a comment on this post to enter!

Your next stop on the blog hop is Anneke de Clerck

Remember, if you find a link that doesn't work, you can always hop back to the Darkroom Door blog for a complete list to all the blogs in the hop!

Thanks for looking, have a goodly day!  TTFN
