Another Year Older...

...and most definitely, another notch on my doolally-belt!  Well, just because the years are a-passing and old age is a-creeping, doesn't mean to say I have to act any older does it??  Anyways... first up, THANK YOU for all the lovely birthday wishes... it means so very much that you all have taken time to wish me a Happy Birthday!  Facebook has gone fair bonkers... and my Grim & Alfonse have well and truly spoilt me!

I thought I would pop some pics on of the Studio 490 Curio Shelf class that I did on Saturday at Birds in the Barn.  Now, I make no secret of my lurve for all things Wendy Vecchi... and it was so nice to play with Art Parts and stamps and ink and Grungepaper - it has been a yonk since I had chance to have a proper play (I was working though... ahem...)   Big thanks to Janet for hosting the class and to Karen for prepping all the class kits and doing the cutting outy bits... and to all the lovely ladies who joined me for a day of Studio 490 delights.

So... d'ya wanna knows what I got for my birthday then?  I am SO excited!!!  Grim had been asking me for a couple of weeks what I wanted for my birthday... so I says I wanted a big sack of birdseed... I loves to see the birdys arriving on the feeders *and Alf ignores them... for some reason!*  But NO, Grim said he wasn't going to get me a sack of birdseed!  So, I asked for the last two DVD's from the Twilight series as I haven't seen them.  I also asked him to get me a new iron 'cos mine leaks from the handle and drives me nuts.  He point blank refused to get me an iron and I have it on good authority from several friends that I am insane for asking for an iron for my birthday (yep, that be me!)  So... I cheekily asked for some of the Susan's Garden flower dies from Sizzix.  Well, I am CHUFFED because I got the DVD's... and I got three of the dies (I am SO lucky)... and... and... and... the surprise of all... he got me a new... phone!!!  The last new phone I had was in 2009 and since then I have always had his old phone when he has upgraded.  I finally left the old steampowered phone behind at the beginning of the year and went onto the swizzy HTC phone that was his old one.  But.  It has less memory than me (yep, that low!)  Anyways, I was over the moon this morning to open up a surprise pressie... and it is a new Samsung Ace 2... how swizzy is that!!! I have sort of figured out how to use it... so if you get any weird messages from me, you will know I am trying it out!   I also got some gorgeous pressies from my friends including tote bags, stashly goodies, choccies (they know me too well) and a host of beautiful cards... I shall pop a pic of those on tomorrow.

Anyways... I shall away, we are off to the Garden Centre this afternoon where Grim has promised me he will buy me said sack of birdseed!  Hurrah!  Oh and... classic or what... Grim said to me this morning "Anything you want today, you just tell me... ."   SO, I said "what, like you are my slave for the day?"   He says "yes...."   My response... "well, my toe nails need clipping.... "   Funnily enough, that isn't in a slave's remit!  Fancy!  Anyways, on that rather revolting image, I shall say... thank you for looking (and for all the greetings)... have a fab day!! TTFN

Hels x

So glad you had such a sooper-dooper birthday and wonderful pressies. I don't have a 'proper' mobile phone and wouldn't know where to start (just have a calls only one in the car for emergencies)so I think you are very clever!! I don't even know how to send a text LOL.
I always like practical pressies so I think an iron is a very good thing to ask for! Did you get any crafty gifts??
Love the message on today's tag -where is it from please?
Hugs Janet (and Bea)

Hi Hels it's a bit late but HAPPY BIRTHDAY sweetie. Sounds like you were thoroughly spoiled, and so you should. It's so cool to have a super duper new phone, but if your anything like me, it takes me forever to get to know how to use the flippen thing. By the time you do know it's well out of date and twenty three new designs have been brought out, and it feels like you have an antique again!!!!! Oh and the piece is FABULOUS darling. Hugs Debbie R xx
