A Case of Mistaken...

...identity?  Well, sort of - more a case of not knowing what day it is.  Me being the mistaken one, namely because I changed my routine... I live by the order of the list you see and when I ignore the list and go it alone, I get confoosed... very, very, confoosed I blame Grim too... having been off sick this week has also thrown my days out. He is still suffering, this flu thing really is a nasty one!  So.  The cautionary tale started on Thursday morning, bright and early, when I decided that I was going to write lists for myself... like I said, I live my life by the list.  On said list for Thursday, along with the banalities of "washing" and "drying" and even worse "ironing" were some notes to self saying "cut 40 tags" next to "stick book pages to Clearly For Art" and "stamp 90 butterflies".   Which is exactly what I did.  Well, I fib ever so slightly because Mount St Hels' ironing mountain is still intact (well, what's the point of having a list if you are going to do everything on it each day...)

Anyways.  I went off to the Room of Stash and did the tag cutting and the book page sticking, nay and thrice, I even did the butterfly stamping... and why?  In readiness for my teaching at Busy Bee's Dabble Day in Sheffield today.  That there tag is what we will be making btw.  Where am I going with this meandering tale?  Well, I did all the cutting and sticking and stamping and then I decided that I would do the rest of the die cutting and ribbon cutting and even popped them all into 30 envelopes ... meaning the whole class was kitted.  I then hit on the idea, being as I was "on a roll" that I would sort out the Distress Inks & Stains I needed to take with me... boxing them up (instead of chucking them all into the boot of Ferdy, I decided to be organised!)  and then boxing up heat tools and baby wipes and spatulas and paint... and as I was going along with all this hefting of boxes, I started to panic ever so slightly.  I mean, look at the time! It was gone 8pm and I was faffing about and still hadn't done my hair, had a bath (probs the bath would come first lol), we hadn't had tea and I needed an early night because I have to be up at 4.45am and... and... and...

OH!  It is Thursday... NOT Friday!  You see, the moral of the story is this:  if you are of slatternly persuasion (like what I am) and you are a last-minute kinda gal (oh yesh, all my classes are kitted on a Friday afternoon lol), do not, under any circumstance, change your habits... because you will lull yourself into a false sense of what day it is.   I have to say, I was ever so relieved but I did feel rather foolish, I mean, how can one person, in the space of two hours, go from happily passing through Thursday to jumping to Friday evening?  Huh?  Anyways... it is now Friday evening and I am scheduling this post to publish itself for me... the wonders of Blogger eh?  Right, I shall away... Thanks for looking and have a wonderful weekend!  TTFN

Lists are great but we must do day and time checks throughout the day to keep us on track. How do I know that, yes I have been there as well.
Lovely tag Hels I really like the colours together and the overall look of the tag. Love it

Morning Hels, What a lovely story, I'm glad that there is more than me that does this sort of thing, I always blame the 'age thing', but what's your excuse ha ha, oh yes - Grim being ill - hope he's feeling much better btw.
Your tag is fantastic and those peeps in Sheffield will love making this tag, and you will have arrived there feeling really fresh and raring to go after being so 'well organised' ha ha. Have a lovely day.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

Why on earth don't you write for comedians because I laugh my socks off at your antics. I want to know how 90 butterflies get divided equally between 40 tags. Safe travels today and tomorrow which look early starts.

I am laughing out loud! Had to explain to my hubby what I am laughing at which has interrupted his watching of a Led Zepplin concert (a brilliant concert it has to be said). At least you were not a day late! Now that would have been a panic! Fab tag - Love it! xx

Loved reading this post! Most of the time I am a last-minute kinda gal, but sometimes a have a day it all starts of with a speed that is unbelieveble and I get more and more done from my list and enjoying it too! It is just a pitty that those days aren't every day...there always seem to less of them in a monyh/week; you get the idea... The only thing I'm glad about, is, that altough I'm a chaotic person, all that has to do with packing goes extremly organized. Comes from wanting to beat my dad by packing the car for the Holidays and winning it from him ever since I was about 11 years old, LOL! Well I'm off, my head says that it needs its rest, so will go to surch for some great colorful dreams (that I can use for some projects, please...) Have fun this Sunday! Hugs, Gerrina

I so know the feeling of wondering what day it is and still neded to kit for 25 people more with only a few hours left and there's no time for sleep....you poor thing. At least you still had another day!!! Gorgeous tag! I'd take that class!!!!

Ah, that happens to me all the time. I blame it on art. When you are deeply immersed in the creative mode, time moves faster. I swear it is true! Lovely tag...the graceful bend of the butterfly wing is pure poetry!
