What's Scarlet and Grins Like A Loon?

....erm... that would be me then lol  **thankfully the studio lights kind of covered up the fact that I was actually as red as a beetroot during that call!**   So!   What did  you think of the little surprise on yesterdays 5pm show huh?  HOW COOL WAS THAT!!!! The Tim Holtz, on the phone, chatting away... I was gutted when the first phone call cut off and so wanted to do a huge happy dance when Tim was back on the line but I feared for the set, so I stayed still lol   I am going to say a few thank you's;   To Creative Expressions for trusting me with these enormously important shows...  and to you all for all the lovely comments, messages, Tweets and mostly your support, it has been an amazing few days.  To Tim, for his call into the studio and for being so inspirational and visionary and bringing all the vintage things I love so much into the crafting world, for making things so much more accessible.  And... finally, to my Grim, who has put up with not seeing much of me, of me being covered in ink, of me spending all day and night making samples and giving out occasional squeals of excitement, I am very lucky to have such an understanding husband!

I have a few card samples that I put together for the shows... we didn't really have time to show the samples that much so I thought I would bob a few on here for the next few days so you can see them close up.  This first one is using the Christmas Blueprint stamp set... I stamped the tree twice onto paper from the new Holidays Stash and stuck them together to make a 3d tree... and I just noticed when I was taking pics... it looks a smidge like a dinosaur (well, I know, sort of, if you squint lol)

I love the Nutcracker image and I may have said this before... I spent hoooours trying to colour him in, each time I did it, it didn't look right.  And I kept trying different shade of colour, nope, still not right.  Eventually the idea hit for me to actually use my resources and ask Mr Google to tell me what this little fella should look like.... haha! I was colouring his kecks in black... and they are white... doh! Simples!

Now, friends and long time readers of this little old blog will probably remember that I have real issues working with stamps that have a face.  There are only a few stamps I actually like that have faces - the Santa ones I use have been very carefully chosen, I just get spooked by a sinister eye or a flared nostril that most peeps won't even notice because I do actually think it is all in my head (ahem, yep!)   So, when I was told that the Stampers Anonymous Classics #5 were being added to the shows, I got a little freaked... like how on earth am I going to bring myself to use those stamps, they are... faces!!!   Well, I just figured I would grit my teeth and go for it.  Oh erm... well, the going got it got a bit out of control because I absolutely fell in loves with this little lady.  She is so pretty and there's not a smidge of the sinister about her... I loves her so much I added a couple of beauty spots to her lip and cheek using a reallly fine tipped pen.  Isn't she almost doll like in her beauty?   I am not sure if you saw the tag on the telly that I made using her... I shall blog that tomorrow because I want to tell you about how I made it in full and I have already bent your ear enough now.

Anyways... tis time for me to get a wiggle on... out for lunch with Grim and an afternoon of telly catch up.  We were planning telly catch up last night but I ran out of energy at about 10pm and went to bed.  And, being slatternly, I even forgot to remove my make-up and woke up looking like a panda... not Kung-fu Panda, more like Old Hag Panda.  I slept for 11 hours too... must have been all the excitement that wore me out.  Right, I shall away... thanks for looking... please do pop back tomorrow because I will be having a giveaway... not just something I have made either... oh no, much better than that ;o{))   (even my smily has got a Movember moustache lol)  Thanks for looking... TTFN!

It was great to be able to watch the show on IW (my computer won't let me watch C&C properly, so much for super fast broadband...) anyhow being home for the day having my cavities done (walls, walls!) meant I could play and watch - those blueprint stamps are fab, wish I could afford some.
Enjoy lunch and take care...

Hello to our Star for bringing Tim to Create & Craft and surely now they will bring you back again and again. Your Demo's were first class. I was so angry when the line went dead just as you were about to speak, so I too was happy that Tim phoned you back. You certainly did him proud Hels with your wonderful work. Enjoy your day with Grim, especially that lunch. Hugs Rita xx

Hi Hels, Your shows were absolutely stupendous, I loved every little bit of them. Your samples and demo's were superb and the phone call from 'Tim', well that completed the whole show, I could listen and watch him all day.
I had programmed my box to record the shows, when I was watching the 5pm show I noticed the box wasn't recording, so it was a 'turn it off and then back on again' scenario, I got to watch on another system as it was Ideal World, but the recording only got the last 20 minutes. These things always go wrong at crucial times ha ha.
I hope you have had a lovely lunch with Graham, and that you manage to do catch-up with your tv.
Lots of love from Patricia xx

What is that bright and shiny light dazzling to the west - why it is Hels lighting up the crafting world with her goodness.
:( seeing your show is not really possible from the middle of the world! But seeing what you played with now has me searching - especially for that gorgeous girl!
Have fun relaxing and thanking Grim for his goodness!

Well done Hels the shows were magnificent - I even remembered to record the one that fell during working hours. Loved all your demos and totally agree about that face - saw the set at Kettering when Leonne was working with it.
Hope you had a lovely lunch with Grim - you certainly deserve it after all that hard work (even if it doesn't feel like it).
