Sunday Stamper - Week 212 - Silver Dream Machine

Gooodly Morning Stampers and a very happy Sunday to you all. Thank you ALL for your amazing entries for last weeks challenge... I know I say this all the time but, it really does make me smile big to see so many lovely entries each week. This week is an easy-ish theme, something simple to get those creative juices flowing. So, without further ado, the theme is.... SILVER. To join in is simples: make a little something, it can be anything you fancy. Add in the theme and some stamping and then pop back here with a link to the place you are showing your entry. If you haven't got a blog, don't worry, you can use Picassa/Flickr/Tumblr or any other webhosting photo place, or you can join in by posting a pic on your Facebook or by emailing me a photo :O)) The challenge will remain open until 21:00 Saturday 7th July 2012.

So. My entry this week started life as a germ of an idea in my head... something "industrial" looking. And ended up looking more pretty than industrial because I just couldn't help but add some paper roses. The background was made by layering Metal Foil Tape onto a tag, overlapping the tape in patches. I then used my Ten Second Studio tools to add some rivets and punchy bits. The whole lot was then covered with Pitch Black Dabber, which I wiped off to reveal a more aged look.

The paper roses are the Mini Tattered Florals die, cut from Shabby Vintage paper and then coloured with Rusty Hinge DI and sanded to make them shabby. The sentiment is on a mini Labels cut from cardstock and this was popped onto an ornate frame from the Large Tags die. I pounced a Silver Dabber onto that, dried it and then lightly pressed a Jet Black Archival onto it, so the black sticks to the raised bits of paint... you can also do this technique with a Gold Dabber and a Coffee inkpad... this gives a really cool rusty look ;o))

Oooh, and a bit of a shameless plug... did you see that I have made my debut in the movie world? I don't think that Steven Spielberg has much to worry about but HERE are the vids, they are only a couple of minutes each and are all about Buttertubs Pass in Yorskhire...

Anyways... that's all from me today - I have one of those "to do" lists that is longer than my leg **no comments about me being a shorta**e and the list not being very long lol** we are having a nice roast lamb dinner (nomnomnomnomnom) and then this evening I am having a crafty Skypey sesh with Ellen, yay! Sounds like a good day huh? Have a good day yourselves... thanks for looking... TTFN!

Hels x

Hi Hels, this is gorgeous & combined with one of Neil Walker's samples that I saw at the Craft Barn yesterday, it has given me an idea. The miracle will be if I can actually succeed in making it. :) Hope you have a lovely day, looking forward to seeing what you & Ellen come up with.

Been looking for you all day honey! So sorry that I caught up on your gorgeous Yorkshire Post. My will- a- wander soul so wants to visit England again. I have to be firm and strong and hide the credit card or a Plane ticket will be in my pocket.

I have just the thing to explore for yoour silver theme so your challenge will be my reward this week for some boring that's on the agenda.
By the way I really like the honey yellow colour with the silver embellishments. It is not a combo I have ever tried but your piece works beautifully.

Hi, Hels. I'm hoping I haven't snubbed the rules with this:

http://tg-cache.tumblr.com/post/26314873112/for-ink-on-my-fingers-silver-dream-machine

Didn't use any stamps, but ended up with ink on my fingers - and elsewhere. Inkjet prints on acetate don't dry very quickly at all, do they?

Anyway, after much mucking about, I like it well enough, and since it was inspired by your challenge, I thought I'd post the link. Please consider it "unofficial" and appreciative. -TG

Here's my entry and 'tis truly silver! Got all excited I did with the theme until I realised I was heading towards a major piece with a minor amount of time to do so.
You know one day I am going to revisit your gorgeous flowers and have me a little play - attempting to make some of them!
Anyway - here's the quick silver challenge.
