...you know, sometimes, only the brightest colours will do. I often find myself in a muted mood (colours, that is, not vocally, can't ever imagine me being mute lol) ...where was I? Ah yes, muted colours. That's what I normally go for. But occasionally a little flash of hot, hot, hot colour leaks out of the section of my brain that is dictated and ruled by Mr Mojo and this tag proves that. I got all my lovely hot coloured Distress Stains out and went a little bonkers with them, creating a smooshy inky background for the tag, as for the flower, well, I would love to see a real-life rose that colour... I know there are some amazing orange ones out there because I have seen them... maybe I should employ Mr Google in a mo and go and hunt out some more... purely for research of course.
Anyways... Mustard Seed, Wild Honey, Fired Brick and Spiced Marmalade Stains were smooshed onto my craft sheet and the tag was dipped through them and then spritzed with water. All the little droplets that were left were then dipped into and pick up the dotty bits, repeatin this layer can add some curious little blobs of ink which look really random. I used Sepia Archival to stamp the dressmaking pattern because I wanted that to blend into the background a bit. And I used jet Black Archival for the dressform to make it pop and be the first layer that the eye is drawn to. The rose is a Tattered Florals flower, cut three times, coloured with Distress Stains and overstamped using the Mixed Media set with Monarch Orange and Vermillion to make the patterns. I assembled it into a rose and then popped it onto the tag with pins and Memo Pins and an Adage Ticket to decorate. The flowery trim at the bottom is coloured with a mix of Wild HOney and Fired Brick DI's, as is the ribbon at the top. So there you have it... a foray into bright colours... no doubt I will be back to my muted ones soon but it was nice whilst it lasted lol
Thanks for all your lovely comments yesterday about my little, how shall I put it... faux pas with the naming of the dog. And thank you also for your helpful words about Springers... I definitely think that that is the pooch that will, one day, be coming to live Chez Sheridan but it is nice to know the problems that they can have... most helpful, so thank you. It won't be for a while yet though. I have had a word with AlfieCat and he has said that if we bring a puppy home, he is going to give it a bat about the muzzle and show it who is boss. Right, I shall away, things to do and stuff to make... thanks for looking, have a lovely day! TTFN

Man! That's hot!! Just realised when looking at it again that it echoes the design of TH's May tag with your very own unique twist of course. Love it. Hugs, Buttons x
I LOVE that flower - wow! It has so much depth - impressive. The colors on this are really awesome.
Hello Hels, from a frequent reader, don't think I have ever commented on your blog (LOVE your work and you explain well, so always come back) now I finally have something of worth to say--- there IS a rose in "that colour"-- was bred/developed for the opening of a hotel in Johannesburg years & years ago, then went on general sale. It is called "Johannesburg Sun" and it is Gorgeous. Ink on!
Just what is needed on a 'chucking it down' day. I feel a forray of crafting coming on after seeing that astonomically beautiful tag. (how many spelling mistakes were there then?) I think AlfieCat will be on your lap even more when little Springy comes to live.
Hugs Joanne xx
