...Brrrrrrr... a typical Bank Holiday here in cold and wet England... which means that it is time to snuggle down into the Room of Stash and ignore the rain slarting on the window and get inky and have some creative time. This month the Duke of Distress came up with another scrummy design for the 12 Tags of 2012... and it just so happened that I had nearly all the ingredients... well, it would have been rude not to get the new Bird Branch Alterations and the Texture Fade to go with it... wouldn't it? Anyways... HERE is the link to Tim's post with all the step by step's etc..
In time honoured tradition, whenever Tim does a 12 Tags tag, I copy it as near as I can to the original. Then I go and play and make my own flavour... which is exactly what I did. The copy tag was made more or less the same way... the only thing I haven't got is the Reflections stamp... but I do have the Xmas variety so, I used the music score as an improv... and when it was embossed thru the Texture Fade, the Black Archival was way too intense and crowded... so I did another using Coffee Archival, swiping across the stamp instead of patting it on... so the background is more subtle.
My flavour tag was made using the other Texture Fade in the pack (love this one) and blending Wild Honey, Broken China and Seedless Preserves DI's over the top of it. Edging with Black Soot to frame the tag and then misting the ink left on the craft sheet and dipping into it... cool mottled effect. The butterflies are Grungeboard... the On The Edge die and the Movers & Shapers... coloured with DI's and then sprinkled with Distress Embossing Powders. A smidge of Idea-ology to decorate and a few Alphaparts which were coloured with Dabbers to make them blend in better.
So... what are you up to today? And... how many Easter Eggs have you scoffed? I have been soooo good (ok, I haven't but I like to keep up the pretence lol) and only had two halves of mine so far... and I know that sounds like I have eaten a whole one but... I haven't... one is a Buttons egg (my fave) and the other is a little Milky Bar egg (my other fave)... oh and yes, Wendy sent me some mini Creme Eggs and Caramel Eggs and erm... they have erm... gone... already lol Right... better get a move on... I happen to have some gorgeous new Studio 490 stamps on my desk that are waiting to get inky and make samples for this weekend at Ally Pally. Thanks for looking... have a FAB day! TTFN

Such a lovely tag Hels!! The colours are so pretty. I've haven't had any Easter eggs cos I didn't buy any, (inserts smug smile here). Enjoy the rest of yours.
Beautiful tags both of them... I didn't get any Easter Eggs either - I love Easter Egg chocolate -seems to taste nicer than in the bar form... and as it's wet I couldn't be a..ed to go out and see if there were any cut price ones... but I do have a teensy (ahem) bag of Mini Eggs that I bought a few weeks ago (yes, I make them last...)so may have some of them. now, off to get inky!
Well the rain is (?) slarting!! on the window here too so I haven't even bothered to get dressed properly today. Love the colours on your own version tag. they are bootiful. As for eggs - I didn't get any - AGAIN. Boo hoo.
Hugs Joanne xx
Gorgeous tags, I need to get a few more TH products before I can create anything like what TH does, but I will get there. As for eggs, I've only started 1 and not yet finished it. Being a good girl and only eating a bit every day! Makes it last longer that way. lol Zo xx
I do like your take on Tim's tag, I don't have texture fades or reverse stamps so my tag looks - backward! I got one egg because my friend bought it for me and it's gone, I did try to share with OH but he said no....so I ate it. Shame on me. Love that texture fade that you used, may need to get them after all.......Crafty hugs, Anne x
Love both your tags Hels. Such pretty colours on them both and I love the techniques. I didn't get any Easter Eggs :o( ........... I did get a biiiiig box of Thorntons choccies though, yummy! Still have a few left and I've been sharing them all weekend. How virtuous am I, hehe! Mind you there a few of my Granddaughters' mini eggs in the fridge that I'm trying hard not to snaffle.
Hugs
Lesley Xx

I love them both Hels! I thought the latter was Tim's...lol! Love your butterflies and baubles. Glad you got some yummy candy!
Both tags are stunning Hels,
I love them. I really like the spring colors you've used. You just get better and better and better as each year goes by.
Oh my goodness, the color combo on your butterfly tag is beautiful! Who knew those colors would look so lovely and springy together? I may have to try that one myself... =) TFS!
Both are absolutely stunning Hels - haven't done mine yet but hopefully tomorrow x Hilda
