Seeds...

...not those type that you bung in the ground and see them grow... oh ho no, these are special seeds... don't worry, I haven't been duped by some bloke on the way to market into swapping my cow for a bag of seeds... actually, I haven't got a cow but... Right... don't worry, panic etc... I haven't been on the sauce.. I am in fact feeling a little smidgily stir crazy and excited... why? Because... I have some seeds!

I know, I said that already... special seeds! It started this fine and misty morn when I wended my way to the Pain Clinic at the hospital. It was one of those check-uppy-follow-uppy appointments to see how I am getting on after they rammed needles to size of crochet hooks into my spine last year. **slight exaggeration, the needles weren't as big as crochet hooks, they were as big as lace hooks lol** Anyways... the relief from pain from the procedure has been zilch, nada, nothing, nowt and never again shall I have to undergo that kind of thing because..... they said there's no point! (well, there was a huge sharpy point on those needles but you know what I mean)

Anyways... excitement abounds inside this little heart of mine tonight because... I finally got my date for... acupuncture! Yay! I have been waiting since June 14th last year... and I am not cross, cheesed off and angry that I had to wait so long because I know the Chronic Pain Service at the hospital is so over-subscribed and under-funded, I am just eternally grateful that they even considered me for the treatment. So... April 11th is my first treatment... and I cannot wait! If it just gives me a couple of hours relief from the pain then I will be a seriously happy bunny. But what about the seeds eh? Well, I was saying to the lovely Sister Nursey lady that I have had acupuncture before and it helped... and that the lovely Acupuncture Needle Lady at the old hospital gave me some needles to bring home and do myself... into my hand, the bit at the end of the crease where your thumb meets your hand when you squeeze it inwards? Well, she did a quick double shuffle and gave me these seeds... how cool are they! They are on ickle plasters and basically, you wear it in the right place and press down on it when the pain gets bad.

And do they work? Well, I don't care if it is all pschycowotsitibobble... I have been wearing this all day and... whilst I still have the pain, I have managed to leave the next dose of meds a whole hour later than normal. I don't know how long the effect will last but whilst it is working I will keep on trying. You will see a distinct lack of crafty pics - which is unusual for me as I normally don't blog when I haven't got anything creative to show you but... owing to the events Chez Sheridan, the past couple of weeks haven't been exactly conducive to creativity... but I have had a rack of emails and messages asking if I am ok etc... which I truly appreciate, thank you everyone who has contacted me... yes, things is tough but it isn't something that we haven't been through before and, in time, we will get through again. Life just seems to throw a nasty thing at us every so often... and as my lovely old Gran used to say, "what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger" She was very right on that one. So, thank you ... so very much for thinking of us... oh and before I go... AlfieCat is on the mend! Hurrah!!!! He is still limping a little smidgey bit when he wants to but he was haring about the garden today and leaping around after his toys last night... we think he must have just sprained his foot... bless him, he is keeping me company at the moment... on his bed... doing what he does best... snoozling lol I took this pic of him the other day, he is using Teddy as a pillow... isn't he just the cutest? **sorry, I turned into a furbaby-bore then lol**

Enough wafflings from me... thanks for looking... inky time in the Room of Stash I reckon ;o)) TTFN

Hels, so sorry it's been hell (ho ho), and that this is giving you som erelief. You could keep to your former musical theme - Needles and Pins, perhaps? Or Sowing the Seeds (of Love)?

Glad Alfiecat's doing what cats do best, too... See you soon

You have my sympathy, Hels and I really hope they work, even if you do look a bit daft, he, he. At least there's no more HUGE, GINORMOUS, FABULASSIVE needles!

Oh so glad you put a photo on of where those little seeds had to go 'cos I spent 3hrs looking for the right crease on my hand just so I knew what you were talking about - I have very wrinkly hands being soooo old you see. I want another pusscat (or 2 ) every time I see AlfieCat. He has such shiny fur.
Hugs Joanne xx

So glad to hear that something is working for you - better than planting a beanstalk! I got referred from the pain clinic to a surgeon who replaced my whole wrist - did it work? Afraid not but at least I can still craft! Take care both you and Alfie cat...

How lovely to read something is helping with your pain Hels! Long may it continue and hopefully the acupuncture will help even more. I hope everything is starting to ease with the other problem too.

I know what I big deal it is to move the pills an hour, so I am happy to know that something is doing, well something. You are in my thoughts....
Alfie is WAY cute. I think cats are here just to be cute; certainly Ben and Jerry are at our house.

If it works, it works... doesn't matter how/why. Good luck, Hels!
