...cor blimey, tis chillywillybilly outside today! Did you have any snow? Well, I was all excited, nose against the window yesterday afternoon when it started to snow at about 4pm... and then stopped... and then started again at about 5pm and it snowed right through until at 1am. And oh boy, the snowflakes were like proper old fashioned ones... not those mean little pebbley types, oh no, these were big fat flakes... but... even though it snowed for all those hours, only about an inch stuck to the ground... and today it is a beautiful sunny day... and freeeeezing. AlfieCat is most disgruntled because he wants to go and catch himself a nice mousey treat but he hates putting his paws into the snow... I wonder if I could get him some welliebobs?
Anyways... a couple of samples from last week on today's post... the first is a tag; coloured by smooshing Picket Fence and Dusty Concord Stains onto my craft sheet, spritzing the tag with water and then dipping it into the inky mix. The leafy border stamping was done using Peeled Paint DI and the sentiment is stamped in Jet Black Archival. The stamps are from the Studio 490 It's More Flower Art set and the birdy and cage are Spellbinders (looove these!) The cage is coloured with Black Soot Distress Stain and Birdy was coloured by blending Milled Lavendar and Dusty Concord DI's over him... and then adding some Glossy Accents onto the embossed bit on his wings.
This card is made using the same stamp set - the big old background is stamped with Wild Honey Distress Ink that was spritzed with water before stamping so it is nice and fuzzy, I dried this and then edged the whole card with Fired Brick DI. The flower is made up from stamped Grungepaper, a little Floral Art Part and a bit of foliage from the Leaves Art Part pack. The border across the middle is stamped with the leafy border in Peeled Paint with Fired Brick dots onto the flowery bits... and then Glossy Accents popped onto the flowery bits to make them pop. The centre of the flower is actually a bit of the diecut from one of the Spellbinders that was on the show, coloured with Fired Brick DI and given the Glossy Accents treatment.
Well, that's me for today, I am having a grand old time playing, I mean making.. class samples for my forthcoming classes at The Stamp Attic on March 3rd and 4th... if you fancy a day out, getting inky, eating chocolate and having a fun time, HERE are all the booking details! Thanks for looking... keep warm and stay safe out there.... TTFN

So glad you posted some of your samples as I was sadly out and missed the shows and I can't tape, sulk! So thank you Hels, I love to see all your crafty masterpieces! Always a joy to see what you get up too!
Cor, missus these are good - I love that bird - Spellbinders you say. not got any of them...!!!
I love that background stamp as well, I don't use it enough.
beautiful birdy and masterstroke with the glossy accents. love to see so much colour contrast in your work lately.
Maybe you can do Snow and Hels in the garden with Alfie and a bottle of pickett fence?
no more talk of samples please, collected enough of those today.xx
Both these attracted me when I saw them on the shows. I may just have to have that birdy and cage die and I think it's a must have for the stripey stamp. We got about 37 snowflakes here today. None around now though. Just been into town and the temp. there was 2 degrees C.
Hugs Joanne xx
love these Hels, have a good weekend and fingers crossed that we stay free of snow for a change x
excellent piece and want to see the welliebobs.EE
Hels you seem to be such a busy lady and you still make time to share with bogland ....love your samples ......and your demo on tv was fab (only just found time to watch it !) here's hoping I will get time soon to join in with challenges x
Gorgeous samples, I love the bird.
Love the samples, especially the card. Bought the stamps from the show so am going to have a go at a similar card. No snow today, just horrible freezing rain and v.v. cold! Have a good weekend.
