Merry Tagmas....

...ooohahahaa, yes, that was supposed to be funny but... it isn't... so the less said about the title, the better huh? Anyways... yesterday I was waffling on about how many days it is to Christmas and how I am virtuous and will be making my cards this year... well, I sat down to make a card and ... erm... ended up with a tag! As ever, totally inspired by the King of Christmas Tags himself, Tim Holtz...

Oh and by the way... it is now only 52 days to Christmas... not that I am counting or anything, mind you, I should keep an eye on the countdown really because last year I got caught out good and proper and ended up rushing about yonder t'internet trying to get pressies and stuff... Not to mention the "incident with the turkey" Did I ever mention it? Well, here's what happened... Every year we get a turkey breast creation from Messrs Marks & Spencer... it comes all wrapped up with bacon and sage butter and the most delightful chestnut, pork and apple stuffing. So, cleverclogs here thinks "aha, I will get one online and then I don't have to bother queueing and all that" Nope, not a single turkey was to be found. So, I set about calling all the M&S's in the vacinity... and found that Luton store had one.

So... me and Grim decided to make a bit of an afternoon of it and got the train to Luton... we went and bought the turkey and the next thing planned was to go to the pictures to watch Unstoppable. Anyways... we get to the cinema, buy our tickets, I get a very small (ahem) bag of popcorn and one of those yummy Ice Blasts and off we go towards the theatre. When... all of a sudden a member of staff approaches us, telling us we can't take our bag of shopping into the theatre. We asked "why?" She tells us, apparently, some naughty people have been buying their own sweeties and drinks and eating them inside the theatre and this is against the law. I know!! Anyways... I says "it is our Christmas turkey and it is uncooked and we are so not going to be nibbling on it whilst eating the popcorn and drinking the Ice Blast that we have already purchased" She still refuses to let us in. So, I am afraid that "Mrs Stern Voice" had to make an appearance... and I told this slip of a gal, in no uncertain terms, that her policy was daft if she was applying it to our carrier bag of Christmas turkey, she could look inside said bag and see my uncooked Christmas dinner. Needless to say, she realised that she was being a little bit silly and let us in to see the film... which, I have to add, was a right old pile of rubbish lol

Anyways, enough about the turkey incident. The base of the tag was stamped in clear and embossed in clear and I did a Faux Batik technique on it... adding Distress Inks blended around the edges... the tree and the reindeer are Grungeboard and his antlers are actually the little branch Movers & Shapers. I am feeling rather festive now... do you think it is too early to put the Christmas tree up?? Right... time for me to stop with the waffle and get along to the Room of Stash for an afternoon of inkiness.... thanks for looking... TTFN!

Never too early to put up the tree! I would leave mine up all year if my dad did not insist that it would bring bad luck...great tag, still trying to get my inky mits on that stamp you used in the background...

Get the tree up if you want. I'm sure AlfieCat will love it. Not putting ours up this year - 'cos we are going away, Yippeee!

No to the tree! I don't want to be a bah-humbug but if you do it now what have you to look forward to? I get that Turkey too - but I'd never thought to take it to the cinema...!

The tag is awesome (love the wreath with bells on your reindeer!) but the story is hilarious. It's truly hard to imagine the gal would have a problem with a raw bird!
