WOYWW... Bitten...

...tis Wednesday already indeedily, which means it is time for the bloggers of the Crafty Blogasphere to show off their workspaces, desks, floors, messes, tidynesses... because it is time for the phenomenon that is... What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday... devised and hosted by Mrs Julia Dunnit.. you can see deets on how to participate (cor blimey, that is a big word for this time of a morning!) HERE. So... my desk is a right state. There are three WIPs on there... a tag book I started yesterday but had to stop (more about that later), a tag that I started yesterday (but had to stop... more about that again later...) and under that pile of papers is a shadow box that I started 281 years ago and still haven't finished it. Under my desk are my coveted Studio 490 stamps... you know, those fave stamps of mine from the amazing designer that is Wonderful Wendy Vecchi. Also on my desk is a big jar of mucky water... and it is the same one from last week... I know, I am a lazy moo. Also on my desk are those new Seasonal Distress Inks which are gorgeous... and my Distress Inks and Stains which are all colour coded and in colour order... I have to have them like that... I also have all my blending tools in the right order too... yikes, I am admitting my inner OCD there lol

Anyways... the BITTEN bit of the title..... well, I got bit. I don't know what it was... whatever it was it was very obviously dirty and manky and has made me proper poorly... which is why all the things on my desk are WIPs because I felt to ickky yesterday I kept starting stuff and then losing the old Mojo. The beastly critter bit me on the tummy - which is all red and itching but no where near as bad as the other place he gnashed me... which is at the top of my left arm... round the back so I can't see it properly. But, believe me, I have looked in the mirror and it ain't pretty. It is all swollen, sticking out like an orange, weeping yellow stuff and oh boy, it is so painful. I have been switching between hot and cold... been upset in the tummy dept (shalln't get graphic lol) and finally when I felt up to eating last night, I honked the lot back. So... job #1 for today is to get an appt with the Doc... hopefully he will be able to chop it off or something. Honestly, why do bugs seem to like gnashing me huh? And... why do I always react so badly? Anyways... enough of me whinging... tis time for me to get myself back to bed... I am in need of more sleep... goodness knows why because I spent about 83 hours asleep yesterday! Thanks for looking.. please do bear with, I will try to get to see you at some point... TTFN

Sorry you are poorly hels... maybe you need to take antihistamines when bugs bite you? You certainly don't seem to react very well to them!!

You know, both dh and I got bit by critters overnight in the last few days as well. I hate not having screens on the windows, but love having the windows open. No win situation there. But dearie me yours sound quite serious. get thee to a dr. Indeed! Funnily, back when I played soccer, we always had sprinkle on meat tenderiser in the first aid kit - it worked to draw out the stuff in bee stings and mosquito bites. I think it was basically MSG, but it worked. Do hope you feel better soon.

Eeeekkk! Get to the doctor, quick smart! (I would self-diagnose the need for antihistamines, but it sounds like the doc should be the one to do that!) Hope you can get back to your desk real soon!

Yikes, that sounds proper nasty! Hope you get it sorted and are back to "normal" soon.... it's nearly time for your trip to the States after all!

Oooh hope you are feeling better soon and the doctor can sort you out. I too have a canvas I have been working on for 281 years! fancy that, and I also store all my distress inks and blenders in colour order too - I dont like to think its OCD though just "been organised gives me more time to craft rather than rummage for stuff" (yeah right like that really happens!!). Hope your day is better and I am rather envious of the new distress inks - havent got those yet and not sure whether I am going too... let me know how you get on with them.

It seems there are mosquitos in the country. Not sure they bite like that but would make you feel very poorly. Having said that, I have to avoid wasps because i will be really poorly if I get stung. Hope the doc sorts you quick.

Having been painfully bitten recently and having to pick out the blood sucking whatever it was, I fully sympathise. Hope you are OK soon but get to the doc pdq.

That's nasty!!! I was bitten earlier in the summer and I was left with a "bite" mark about the size of a soft ball and I still have a mark. That was almost 4 months ago!!! I have a friend with the same problem!!! I'm scared! What's out there these days???? I hope you are better soon!

I got a late start yesterday because I fell asleep before I could link up with Julia. Now I'm just trying to catch up. It sounds like a spider to me. All red and swollen. Had it happen to me once and I agree that it's very painful. Hope you get better soon. BTW, I'm 42 this week.

Oh Helen, I feel for you hun because I always get bad reaction to insect bites.

Get some Bach’s Rescue Remedy on it. A lady told me about it when I was in Canada a few years back when I had mosie bites all over me and I ended up with what looked like a cauliflower ear…..not a good holiday look!
Anyway she gave me some Bach’s Rescue Remedy to put on it and within fifteen mins all the redness had started to die down and it was way less itchy. I swear by it now.

Still, it’s such a shame that it’s keeping you from your craft desk but I’ve just seen the finished tag in the next post and have to say, if you can create something as beautiful when you’re feeling less than 100% then you’ve nothing much to worry about.

Thanks for stopping by my blog this week and I hope you’re feeling better soon.
Happy Crafting!

That tip about the Bach Flower Remedy sounds good. I have also been told that if you eat Marmite, the mozzies leave you alone. I have suffered badly from these beasties all my life until this last 12 months. I have been taking a non-drowsy anti-histamine each day, all through the year, and it has seemed to work. Get yourself to the doctor for anti-biotics, anti-histamines and painkillers, before it gets spread throughout your system. Hope you soon feel better.

oooh hun, not good! Sounds very much like a horsefly bite (and I think the tummy one is a different beastie to make it even worse). Sending you sympathetic hugs!
