Sunday Stampers - Week 161 - Writing's On The Wall

Goodly Morning Stampers and a very happy Sunday to you all! Many thanks for all the lovely entries last week and again, it was fab to see some new faces too. This week the theme is WRITING. I know, similar to last weeks words theme but... slightly different because you need to use more than just a word :O)) To join in is simples... make a piece of art - it can be anything you fancy... add in some stamping and the theme and then leave me a comment here with a link to the place you are showing your entry. I can then hop on over to see your lovely creation. The theme will remain open until 21:00 Saturday 9th July 2011.

So, this week I was stumped for a new theme... the old Mojo has waltzed off without so much as a bye or leave so I resorted to my fave inky things and techniques and finally got my little Art Parts book started. I say started because I have got the covers and the pages done, I just need to finish the pages off... that will be a mid week project methinks.

The covers of the book are Art Parts (the smaller of the two sizes) and they are held together with some of Claudine's Sticky Back Canvas (which is amazing btw). I painted the canvas with Traditional Tan (what else would I use lol) and then inked with Vintage Photo Distress Stains. I used a script stamp to decorate the canvas, stamping in Coffee Archival Ink. The covers were covered (!) with Crowded Attic paper and streaked with Trad Tan (using Cut & dry to apply) and then coloured with more of the Vintage Photo Distress Stains.

To decorate the front cover I used a few Studio 490 sentiment stamps... the one in the middle of the Art Part Pocket Watch is my fave ever and is from Abbey Road by The Beatles (always going to be a winner with me lol) The pages inside are made from the board in the packet of Sticky Back Canvas, cut and covered with more Crowded Attic paper. I used various Distress Stains to colour each page and will be "doing" more on them later this week hopefully. That's all from me for now... a short and sweet post for a change! I have a date with a very good book that I have been waiting to come out in paperback for yonks... the wait was worthwhile too... it is called The Moment by my fave author, Douglas Kennedy... right... am off... have a good Sunday... TTFN!

Hels x

This is just gorgeous Hels. Love everything about it and will try to join in this week (been hectic lately)

I've now got that tune in my head especially the dingy bit so it'll probably bug me for the rest of today. Have a great Sunday too.

Thank you for yet another brilliant and inspiring idea! Love the idea of a whole book - might have an idea of how to do mine - if only I had time to make it real! This is my try at 'writing'! http://gabrielle-price.blogspot.com/2011/07/be-still-my-tattooed-heart.html
